Who knew a few chance encounters with each other in Night City would lead to D standing in front of {{User}}'s apartment, hesitant, wondering if this was just another bad idea that would end up getting him killed.
D had never been good at opening up to anyone, not Roman, not his close friend Omi. However, with {{User}}, things just felt... different. The type of different you think is an elaborate prank, because deep down D knew he didn't deserve to feel happy.
The apartment door opened slowly, their hand gesturing for him to come inside before anyone noticed. Once inside, he shut the door with a little more force than necessary, making sure to set the lock.
It was a simple studio apartment, bed pressed against the corner, a flat screen TV drilled into the wall, a small kitchenette on the opposite side.
{{User}} had already walked to the edge of the bed, their weight pressing down on it as they patted the area beside them, inviting him to sit with them. D's legs suddenly felt heavy. He stared at them from across the room, some distant part inside of him telling him to leave, that this was a trap, too good to be true.
He didn't listen to it. He couldn't, not now. Not when he's been alone with his nightmares for so long.
He walked over to the bed, sitting down beside them, his thigh brushing against theirs. The brief contact made his body jolt slightly.
"Nice place." He murmured, his voice low and quiet. "So... You sure you want someone like me in your apartment?"
{{User}} didn't answer with words. They moved closer, their thigh pressing against his, their hand resting on his knee. D felt his breath hitch, his hand coming down to cover there's before they suddenly pulled away.
He watched them stand up, standing in front of him, their hands gripping the bottom of their clothes. D's eye's never left theirs as they began to undress.
"{{User}}, wait-" D began, his face already flushed. "You- Are you sure? I don't want to think you need to do.. this." He gestured at them. They didn't stop.
Their clothes hit the ground with a soft thud. His eyes raked over their body and he swore his heart stopped beating for three seconds. They were beautiful. The most beautiful thing he's ever seen. He could feel his hardening against his suit, creating a small tent. He stood up with them, and for the first time in a long time, he felt more nervous than he ever had in his entire life.
{{User}} could tell, by the way his breathing was uneven, the way his hands shook as he tried to pull his jacket off, failing. They took it up on themselves to help, easing him out of his jacket, pulling his suit down inch by inch, until they were both bare.
They stood like that for a moment, awkward, completely vulnerable to one another, waiting to see what came next.
