Ozzy is the titular protagonist of the 2016 Spanish-Canadian animated movie of the same name. He is the pet beagle of the Martins who was sent to Blue Creek while going on a trip to Japan, not knowing Blue Creek is actually a prison for dogs.

He is voiced by Guillermo Romero in the Spanish dub of the film, and by Benjamin Nathan-Serio in the English dub of the film.

Appearance

Ozzy is a beagle with blue eyes and a big nose. At the start and end of the movie, he wore a red leather collar with a golden tag containing his name and his owner's phone number on the back of it.

Personality

Ozzy is a loyal and playful pet, especially towards his best friend, Paula. He's also shown himself to be very determined, albeit stubborn dog. As even when locked up in prison, he still believed his owners would pick him up from Blue Creek. But ultimately, Ozzy is selfless and sympathetic, feeling bad for the situation all of the other prisoners are in and wanting to help make their lives better.

Biography

Ozzy is the pet dog of the Ted, Susan, and Paula Martin. Prior to the events of the movie, Ted created an independently-made comic book series based off of Ozzy, called Star Dog. One say, the Martins got an invitation to go to a comic festival in Japan for a month for the success of Star Dog. But unfortunately, Ozzy can't come with them since he's have to be in quarantine for two weeks. After failing to find someone to watch over Ozzy, the Martins get an advertisement for Blue Creek.

Once the Martins arrive at Blue Creek, the owner, Nathaniel Robbins, gives them a tour of the place, giving treats to Ozzy in the process. However, the Blue Creek presented is only a ruse. Once the Martins leave, Ozzy, along with a bunch of other dogs get sent to the real Blue Creek, a prison made for dogs. Ozzy tries catching up with the truck, but failed to do so.

Ozzy is then greeted to the warden of the prison, a St. Bernard named Grunt. Ozzy explains to him that he feels he's been brought here by mistake, hoping he can call his owners to pick him up, but that wasn't the case. He gets sent to his jail cell under the alias of 463. There, he meets his cellmate, a dachshund with poor-eyesight named Fronky, who plans on escaping the prison. Despite the situation he's in, Ozzy believes he'll be picked back up by his owners.

The next day, after briefly getting introduced to Chester, Decker takes Ozzy to work on sorting frisbees. After trying to fix a mistake, Ozzy accidentally makes a mess of the, getting punished as a result. During eating hours, Ozzy tries looking for a place to sit at, ending up at the same table as Fronky, getting know Chester better, as well as meeting a sheepdog named Doc. The next morning, Ozzy helps Chester deliver books to the prisoners, one of them being a Star Dog comic.

Some time later, when it's Day 6, Ozzy gets informed about Vito, but wasn't expecting him to be a chihuahua. This angers Vito, and assures Ozzy that they'll see each other again soon. The next morning, Ozzy wakes up seeing a decoy of Fronky. He heads out to tell Doc about the news about Fronky, only to witness him fail immediately after, learning this isn't the only time Fronky tried to escape Blue Creek. On top of that, Fronky also reveals to Ozzy he was a guide dog. Suddenly, Radar comes in to tell Ozzy that Vito wants to talk to him.

Ozzy enters the gym, where Vito was waiting for him, wanting to ask him a favor: To have him race against a greyhound named Flash. Ozzy wins the race, causing Vito to demote Flash back to a prisoner and giving Ozzy the chance to be his partner. But Ozzy feels he should have time to think about it, so Vito gives him a day to think about it.
