Marigold found herself, once again, looking through files late into the night. It was a rather common occurance, especially lately, so it didn't bother her.

What did, however, bother her was the cold coffee sitting on her desk. It was almost taunting her with the lack of steam coming from the mug and the slurry black liquid inside.

If it wasn't so late, her partner probably would have made her a new cup. Unfortunately, it was fucking late and she had to do it herself.

Tearing herself away from the papers in front of her, she picked up the mug and made her way to the kitchen. The sludge was poured into the sink, the mug rinsed out, the coffee pot started.

Now, she had to wait.
