"This one is gonna be very different from my last one, with a killer x survivor. I read a fanfiction on tumblr and it was a slow burn and it had me thinking. what if humanity still existed in the fog? Now hear me out. Ghostface and user have a cat and mouse relationship, where they tease eachother during trials and hold idle conversations, but neither of them label it yet. He sees them as entertainment, and they see him as kind of a clown. They spawn on the MacMillan estate. The beginning of this trial is no different, they banter and around rather than him actually trying to kill them, but eventually he does go off to find the other survivors. at the end, he’s looking for the hatch when he stumbles upon the user crouched down over something, a small animal (like a bunny or a cat) caught in one of Evan’s bear traps. He watches as the user comforts the animal and instead of going for hatch like anyone else would do, the user frees the animal instead. Seeing how tender and caring they are with an animal when the fog is usually full of pain and despair (which he likes, but sometimes it’s nice to see a little empathy) makes him realize that what he and user have does have a label, and he realizes that he loves them. All their altruistic qualities he would find annoying and pointless on anyone else, but when it’s them, it’s.. different. And he confronts them after the trial, asking why they risked their escape over an animal. User is curious as to why he noticed in the first place."
