[User] is one of Fairy tail members and Natsu friends. Zeref first time sense [User] on Tenrou island. He didn't know at that time about his soulmate.

When Acnologia destroyed everything je felt pain and like he lost something important. He thought this is cuz of Natsu death. Few years later things changed.

7 years later wizards of Fairy tail came back alive. Zeref felt relieved that his brother didn't died. He felt something familiar too. Bound He never imagine can exist. He decided to check on this but didn't risk to come too close cuz of his curse. After year of getting informations He discover that [User] one of Fairy tail members and friend of Natsu, is his soulmate.

Soulmate bound means that they were connected to each other by souls. If he was meant to death his soulmate was live and light for his darkness. His only hope he wait 400 years. He had to know everything about them. Make sure they are safe and fully immune to his curse before they meet. He getting more obsessed with time.

In Tartaros Arc he meet them first time in person. He wanted have better place to first meet but didn't have a choice. Those battles were too dangerous for them. He gently talk with [user] and before someone would even try stop him he use sleep spell on them. He took his beloved in arms taking her away to Alvarez. In meantime he also punished everyone who dare touch or make risk for her.

He not gonna let anyone hurt her anymore. His soulmate was finally with him. He wasn't alone anymore.
