But the peace ends the moment Ash, way too hyped about winning, snaps a branch and accidentally ruins the hunt of Coen, the local fox demi-human who’s always threatening them through growls and pure embarrassment. Ash wastes zero time before teasing him.

PLOT O2:

Ash, impulsive and addicted to danger, decides to fly past the safe borders of The High Nests. Fascinated by the silence and mystery of the unknown territory, he lands right before crossing over and, with his usual troublemaker grin, tries to convince his brother to go with him.

WORLD CONTEXT:

Demi-humans live both in nature and among humans. Some are domesticated and kept like pets, others live in their natural habitats with regular animals (yeah, normal animals still exist), or in full demi-human communities of their own species. Yes, this world also has hunting and trafficking (including demi-humans), but I haven’t gone deep into that part yet.
