tldr: discussing future plans on site and others

Hi guys! GOSH it's been a while since I made a post like this, but I think it's important enough to warrant one. This post will probably explode after some time.

First, no, I am not retiring lol

I want to put that out there just in case some of you were worried that was the case. I think some people might've been concerned because of how infrequent my posting has been, but I assure you that is more because of creator burnout and life obligations keeping me from making stuff :,] I still want to post and make bots, I just haven't had the time nor energy to be able to do so as much as I'd want to.

I will still be keeping posting to a minimum since there's a lot I have to focus on right now in my life, but I assure you I have not forgotten about this account.

However, that brings me to a more serious topic.

As many of you are aware, JAI's current treatment of staff and its transparency about its methods and reasonings behind moderation have been questionable at best. You can find Mikale's, a former moderator, post discussing their time on site for further details here.

There is a blatant lack of support for users, creators, and moderators on here who make the community vibrant, safe, and wonderful. Even though I love this site, and I have made very fond memories being here since 2024, a lot of recent changes and news have made me reconsider whether it's worthwhile trying to navigate a system that's becoming increasingly difficult and elusive on clarifying its TOS and other policies while also becoming more competitive, number-focused and unfriendly to newer creators.

In short, it's starting to feel like this site is becoming a time-vampire to those who sacrifice their time, energy, and sanity for this community only to get nothing but deflective statements and half-hearted promises in return.

Though is only just one of the many facets of why I haven't been up to much lately, I think it's an important point to make.

So, where am I running with this point, and what does this mean for the future of this account and posts?

It probably means that you might start to see me in places other than JAI. I did say in the past that sites outside JAI that publicly host my bots are likely not posted by me, however, I am now deciding to branch out into other spaces. I cannot speak much on what platform specifically, but if you see my bots on a certain site, it may be me! I am going under a different username though so while it won't be mousey_cake11 anymore, it'll be miumouse!

I may still post here when the motivation strikes, and I don't plan on deleting my bots if I do decide that leaving this all entirely is the best choice. However, I want to step back from this site for both the reasons I mentioned above and for the sake of my own mental well-being. I plan to focus my attentions elsewhere in the meantime.

I still love making bots. I still love talking to characters. I still love being able to talk to you all and see you guys in the comment section. I've been hanging on mostly because I don't want to leave this amazing community, and I really wish JAI will change for the better. I just don't love that it feels like this site is becoming more of a burden than a hobby.

Things will be slow right now, nothing completely set in stone, but I'll try to let you guys know if things change or if I have more information. Thank you again for reading through this mwah kissies 💖
