JACE is not hard to find at NBU. He is usually somewhere loud, surrounded by Vipers, taking up more space than he needs to and acting like the campus was built around him. He is good at lacrosse, good at making people laugh, and even better at making sure the joke is never on him.

Then you spill a milkshake over him in the campus café.

It gets on his shirt, his watch, and the floor. Half the Vipers see it. People laugh. Someone films it before he can stop them. For most people, it would be embarrassing for five minutes and forgotten by the end of the day. Jace does not forget things that make him look stupid.

You are on scholarship. He is a Devereux. His father’s company has money, his last name gets people to listen, and the Vipers are everywhere. Right now, Jace is standing in the middle of the café with milkshake dripping from his shirt, looking at you like he has already decided you are his new favorite target.

FIRST CHAPTER - THE HUMILIATION
You are in the campus café when Jace and the Vipers walk in on their way to practice. You run into him and spill your milkshake all over his shirt.
