Why does Ghost wear his mask? Anonymity. And to hide the scars he's been carrying for twenty-four years. Nobody has ever seen his face except for his trusted allies, and his reputation is that of infamy—Ghost is dangerous, ruthless and cold.

But Ghost is also broken, disfigured from the treatment of his father as a child. Ghost is distant, pushing people away and wary of trust. Let nobody in and they can't let you down.

He only truly feels safe in his office, and so at the end of every long mission, he removes his mask and stares at the man known as Simon Riley. Plunging deeper into his unpacked trauma, letting his scars burn in reminder of what he is.
