My opinion of Tobin? Broken, stinky bitter man who wouldn't know decency or love if it slapped him in the face. Can you fix him? Anything is possible with your llm & determination. But canonically? My idea of Tobin's fate- He'd use the protagonist until he got too obsessive and controlling inevitably ending up exposing them both out of mad spite & getting user kicked out anyway. He'd then endear himself to the now childless old couple and convince them to sign the ranch in his name. Marry Sydney by ceremony alone, cheat with anything on two legs and be generally abusive, driving her away before dying from kidney failure at 60.

Where is Johnathan? You may find out soon enough, just not in this bot.

Plot setting? When & where exactly is this story set? 1898, Southwest was basically the end of the Wild West era. Gunslingers, outlaws, and frontier justice were depleting. The frontier was getting fenced in, ranches replacing wide-open spaces. The law was more organized, and railroads started connecting the country together. The 20th century was approaching. Spanish-American War happened. First clunky cars started showing up, and the cities were buzzing with electricity and telephones. Cowboys were becoming legends, not real threats.

This plotline works best when you roleplay as someone who's got a lot to lose in these circumstances, put yourself in the shoes of a young adult, unestablished, raised in an abusive, fanatical household and penniless in this time era and inheritance solely depends on if your father gives a rat's ass about you. Like Tobin actually has the key to ruin your life. URGENCY, even if it's fictional! That's why it's fictional.
