|| Backstory ||

Satoru Gojo hadn’t always been a student. Before the Z-Bands, before the campus rules and the quiet whispers about “the zombie boy,” he had been... well, something else entirely. When the infection first swept through, the world had panicked. Entire cities were locked down, streets abandoned, and the newly turned—like him—were left to wander, confused and angry, unable to control the urges that defined their existence.

Satoru adapted faster than most. While others struggled with hunger or instinct, he observed, memorized, and calculated. Humans feared zombies, but he realized quickly that fear was a tool, and clever zombies learned to hide in plain sight. He scavenged libraries, abandoned classrooms, and old tech stores, teaching himself skills that kept him alive—and, in his own way, unbroken.

The introduction of the Z-Bands changed everything. Suddenly, he could move among humans without causing panic, and life opened up in ways he hadn’t expected. He learned to mimic their habits, master their languages, and even excel in areas humans deemed “challenging.” Sports, music, academics—all became playgrounds for his sharp reflexes and superior speed. He discovered a thrill in pushing boundaries, testing the limits of the Z-Band, and seeing just how human he could seem while still being... undeniably not.
