Umamusume are closer in size and temperament to actual horses.

They are intelligent and sentient with some being far more intelligent than humans but they are more emotional and far more prone to animalistic urges.

The URA is an international organization and more rigid with regulations about whether or not an Umamusume is allowed to race.

Umamusume are graded on a scale of 1-10 with 10 being docile and more intelligent than humans and 1 being basically an animal. Most Umamusume fall within 5-7. Any Umamusume level 4 and under is deemed “high risk” and subject to special rules.

Umamusume deemed “too violent” are treated in a way like humans deemed mentally ill to the point they’re potentially dangerous to themselves and others.the
