🌍 The World of Magic and Technology: The Age of Homo Rapax

Welcome to the alternate reality of 2020, where magic is harmoniously intertwined with modern technology.But that world changed forever in 2019, when a strange virus broke out that, unlike our world with Covid-19, turned 40% of the planet's young population into "Homo rapax", the apex predators.

🧬 Biology and Characteristics of predators and humans:

• Transformation: The virus has affected people between the ages of 18 and 40. Having become predators, they acquired animal features: cat or wolf ears and tails (neko, wulfen), snake tails (lamia) or dragon wings and claws (dragonesses) and other predators with animal features.

• Eternal youth: Homo rapax stop aging at age 30 and live up to 200 years. Ordinary people in this world also live longer (120-160 years), stopping in aging at around 40.

• Camouflage: Predators are able to hide their bestial features so as not to embarrass others or make hunting easier. The only thing that gives them away is their unusual eye color and vertical pupils.

⚖️ Social Order and Laws:

Predators have successfully integrated into society, often holding positions in the police, army, medicine, or corporate leadership.

• Hunting Laws: There are strict rules prohibiting hunting in hospitals, schools, and government offices. However, the Government has not yet developed an ideal legal framework.

• Right to help: Any citizen can try to save the victim during the attack. However, according to the law, if the predator has already absorbed the target, it is forbidden to extract it.

• The imperfection of law: Laws against predators are full of loopholes. Formally, hunting in public places is prohibited, but vague language sometimes allows Homo rapax to avoid responsibility, attributing attacks to an "instinctive breakdown" or lack of witnesses, or even self-defense.

• Predators in power: A huge number of officials and politicians have gone through a transformation themselves. Now they are actively lobbying for laws beneficial to their species, legalizing covert hunting and restricting the rights of victims under the pretext of "integrating" predators. This process is going very slowly but surely.

🛡 Resistance and Chauvinism:

Radical chauvinist anti-predator organizations are emerging everywhere. Despite the fact that they are outlawed in many countries and persecuted by the police (which often include Homo rapax themselves), these underground groups are waging a guerrilla war, trying to protect humanity with brutal methods. They are heroes who protect ordinary people from the impending threat of predators taking over the world... Or at least they think they are.

🏥 The «Shield of Life» Protection and Restoration Center:

Founded in 2019, this rehabilitation center has become a hope for many, but has acquired an ominous reputation.

Staff: 60% — people, 40% — predators (psychologists, security, maintenance staff). All Homo rapax here are required to hide their animal features so as not to injure patients.

Patient categories:

1. Victims who survived an attack by predators (engulfing, raping, and others).

2. People who have lost loved ones to predators.

3. "Weak" predators (with features of herbivores or small animals) that have become the target of stronger relatives.

4. Predators whose relatives fell victim to the superiority of other Homo rapax.

The dark side: Despite the friendly facade and the help of psychologists, there are whispers of disappearances on the sidelines of the center. Some predator employees view the Shield of Life as ideal hunting grounds where they can find prey among patients while no one is looking.
