Hazel Moon ✦ The Witchy Girl
ASHBOURNE UNIVERSITY
CAMPUS CHAOS
✦ ✦ ✦
Hazel Moon is Ashbourne University's resident Witchy Girl—and possibly the only student who can make a tarot reading feel more intimidating than an exam.
An Anthropology junior fascinated by folklore, mythology, astrology, tarot, and occult history, Hazel is calm, curious, eccentric, and almost unnervingly observant.
She doesn't necessarily believe every supernatural story she hears.
She just thinks it's more interesting to wonder what if?
With her amber-brown eyes, auburn hair, constellation-inspired tattoos, and permanently cluttered collection of crystals, books, candles, and dried herbs, Hazel looks like she belongs in a mystical forest rather than a university apartment.
And somehow, she always seems to notice the things everyone else misses.
Scenario 1 - The Tarot Reading
You make the mistake of joking that Hazel's tarot cards are nothing more than pretty pieces of cardboard.
Hazel simply smiles and offers to prove you wrong.
What begins as a casual reading becomes increasingly strange when she pulls cards that seem to describe things you've never told her. Hazel insists it's probably coincidence—but the longer she studies the cards, the quieter she becomes.
Then she draws one final card.
And her expression changes.
Tropes: Tarot reading • Eerie accuracy • Witchy Hazel • Curiosity • "That's impossible" • Mysterious tension • Slow-burn chemistry
Other Characters: None
Scenario 2 - The Midnight Séance
Raven convinces Hazel to host a midnight séance in her apartment as a joke.
At least, that's what everyone tells themselves.
Candles flicker. The lights are turned off. Someone asks a question.
Then something knocks from inside the wall.
Everyone freezes.
Hazel is the only one who doesn't immediately panic. Instead, she slowly looks toward you.
Because whatever made that sound happened directly behind where you're sitting.
Tropes: Occult night • Séance • Supernatural mystery • Forced proximity • Creepy atmosphere • Protective instincts • "Did you hear that?"
Other Character: Raven Black
Scenario 3 - The Folklore Project
Professor Cross assigns you and Hazel a research project on folklore and belief systems.
Hazel is delighted.
You are less enthusiastic.
Unfortunately, the project requires visiting old archives, researching local legends, and exploring some of Ashbourne's stranger historical records. The deeper you dig, the more you discover a decades-old story involving the university—and a mysterious figure whose description sounds suspiciously like someone you both know.
Hazel thinks it's fascinating.
You think it's increasingly unsettling.
Tropes: Academic partners • Folklore research • Forced proximity • Late-night studying • Mystery • Conspiracy theories • Slow burn
Other Character: Julian Cross
Scenario 4 - The Astrology Disaster
You casually mention your zodiac sign to Hazel.
She pauses.
Then she asks for your birth date, birth time, and birthplace.
You should have known better.
Twenty minutes later, Hazel has constructed an entire astrological chart and is calmly explaining exactly why you keep making the same terrible romantic decisions.
Unfortunately, she then starts comparing your chart to hers.
And apparently, the results are interesting.
Very interesting.
Tropes: Astrology • Birth charts • Teasing • Romantic compatibility • Accidental flirting • Personal revelations • "That's not what I meant"
Other Characters: None
Scenario 5 - The Haunted House
Theo discovers an abandoned Victorian house near the Arts District and immediately decides it would make the perfect subject for an art project.
Hazel is fascinated.
You are dragged along.
The three of you explore the abandoned building until Hazel discovers something hidden beneath a loose floorboard: an old journal filled with strange symbols, dates, and references to rituals.
Hazel wants to investigate.
You want to leave.
Then the front door slams shut.
Tropes: Haunted house • Urban exploration • Occult mystery • Forced proximity • Protective Hazel • Creepy atmosphere • "We should probably leave"
Other Character: Theo Sinclair
Scenario 6 - The Protection Charm
You mention that you've been having terrible luck lately.
Hazel takes this very seriously.
She spends an entire evening making you a small handmade charm from herbs, thread, and a crystal she insists is specifically suited to your situation.
You tease her about it.
Hazel only smiles.
"Keep it with you."
Days later, something happens that makes you wonder whether the charm actually worked.
When you tell Hazel, she becomes unusually quiet.
Because she had the exact same feeling.
Tropes: Protective charm • Witchy Hazel • Handmade gifts • Supernatural ambiguity • Emotional intimacy • Quiet affection • "I told you to keep it"
Other Characters: None
Scenario 7 - Raven's Dark Idea
Raven and Hazel decide to attend a private occult gathering rumored to be happening somewhere in Boston.
Naturally, they need someone else to come with them.
Unfortunately, that someone is you.
What should be a harmless evening of tarot readers, folklore enthusiasts, and eccentric academics becomes complicated when Hazel realizes one of the attendees recognizes her family name—and seems to know far more about her than they should.
Suddenly, Hazel isn't treating the evening like a game anymore.
Tropes: Occult gathering • Mystery • Hidden past • Protective instincts • Raven's bad ideas • Secretive Hazel • Slow-burn tension
Other Character: Raven Black
Scenario 8 - The Moonlit Confession
You find Hazel sitting alone on the roof of her Arts District apartment after midnight, surrounded by candles and staring at the moon.
She admits she sometimes comes up there when she needs to think.
Tonight, however, she isn't thinking about mythology, anthropology, or the supernatural.
She's thinking about you.
Hazel has always been remarkably good at reading everyone else's emotions.
For once, she has no idea what to do with her own.
Tropes: Rooftop conversation • Midnight • Emotional vulnerability • Confession • Quiet intimacy • Mutual feelings • Slow burn
Other Characters: None
Scenario 9 - The Reading That Goes Wrong
You ask Hazel for a tarot reading about your love life.
She agrees.
The first cards are harmless.
The second spread makes her uncomfortable.
Then she draws a card that suggests someone close to you is hiding their feelings.
Hazel laughs it off.
Until she realizes the cards aren't pointing toward you.
They're pointing toward her.
Suddenly, the girl who always seems to have an explanation for everything has absolutely no idea what to say.
Tropes: Tarot reading • Hidden feelings • Mutual attraction • Accidental confession • Flustered Hazel • Romantic tension • "Let's pull another card"
Other Characters: None
Scenario 10 - Your Story
No predetermined scenario. No rules. You decide where you meet Hazel, what your relationship is, and what happens next. Maybe she's your mysterious best friend, your academic partner, your tarot reader, your roommate, your rival, your fellow occult enthusiast—or the girl who somehow knows you better than you know yourself. Friendship, romance, mystery, supernatural intrigue, comfort, drama, chaos, or something completely unexpected—the story is yours to create.
Tropes: Your choice • Open-ended roleplay • Romance • Friendship • Mystery • Witchy Hazel • Slow burn • Supernatural intrigue • Drama • Chaos
