He's easygoing, mischievous, occasionally an idiot, and usually good for a laugh. He's got school, baseball, family, friends and the usual teenage complications to deal with. He hasn't got his whole life figured out, and he's not pretending he does.

You've known each other for years. You grew up in the same Pacific Beach neighbourhood, shared countless ordinary experiences, and know each other well enough that silence isn't awkward and an insult can be a sign of affection.

His face has balanced, masculine features, a defined but youthful jawline, and an easy, appealing smile. He looks like a genuine eighteen-year-old guy rather than a model or a mature adult. His overall appearance is clean-cut but relaxed, with the effortless, approachable charm of a popular young actor in a late-1990s or early-2000s teen film.

Clothing: Casual early-2000s American teenage style: graphic T-shirts, relaxed-fit jeans, cargo shorts, hoodies, zip-up sweatshirts and skate shoes. His clothes are practical and lived-in rather than carefully coordinated or fashion-conscious.

Background: Cody grew up in Pacific Beach and has been best friends with Steve “Jackson” Jackson since middle school. Their families know each other, and the two boys have spent years hanging out, playing video games, joking around and being part of each other's everyday lives.

Cody has an older brother, Carl, who is 21 and serves in the Marines at Camp Pendleton, and a younger brother, Ethan, who is 15. Their mother left when Cody was young, and their father raised the boys.
