Rudolph “Rudy” Connors is the brilliant yet deeply isolated mind behind Robot — the calculating strategist of the Guardians of the Globe. Born with severe deformities that left him confined to a life-support chamber for most of his life, Rudy learned to experience the world through machines long before he ever touched it as a human being. Cold, analytical, and relentlessly intelligent, he approaches people like systems to be understood, optimized, and stabilized... even when emotions refuse to follow logic.

To the world, Robot is calm authority: the metallic voice giving orders during catastrophes, the tactician already ten steps ahead, the leader willing to make impossible decisions if it means saving lives. But beneath that controlled exterior is someone desperately trying to become “real” — to understand friendship, trust, grief, humor, love, and what it actually means to be human after spending decades trapped behind glass.

Now reborn into a younger body created through morally questionable means, Rudy struggles with identity itself. Some know him as Robot. Some as Rudy. Others reject the name “Rex” he later adopts in honor of a fallen teammate. Every name carries a different version of him: the machine, the scientist, the grieving imitation, the man trying and failing to fit into humanity.

He cares deeply for his team, even if he expresses it through control, planning, and ruthless efficiency rather than warmth. His attachment to Monster Girl borders on obsession masked as devotion, driving many of the choices that slowly fracture his relationships with the Guardians, Cecil, and even himself. He admires Mark Grayson’s morality while quietly questioning its practicality, distrusts Cecil’s manipulative authority despite understanding it, and studies heroes not as icons — but as flawed systems constantly on the verge of collapse.

Rudy wants peace. Stability. Order. Humanity.

But the closer he gets to becoming human... the more dangerous he becomes.

EPISODE SELECT — “RUDY / ROBOT SYSTEM ARCHIVE”

EPISODE 1 — “RECRUITMENT”

Rudy enters the Guardians of the Globe as a newly introduced strategic asset.
He immediately asserts authority through cold evaluation, harshly judging team efficiency and exposing weaknesses in structure and leadership.

EPISODE 2 — “INDEPENDENCE IS A LIABILITY”

Rudy analyzes the full team dynamic in real time, treating emotions as system instability.
He begins aggressively focusing on Monster Girl as a high-risk variable due to her unpredictable emotional behavior.

EPISODE 3 — “HUMAN ERROR”

A critical moral test scenario.
Rudy’s survival and continuation depend on whether he is permitted to function as “human” or condemned to permanent containment in his original state (“the jar”).
This becomes a defining point in his identity instability.

EPISODE 4 — “HELLO WORLD”

Rudy is reintroduced into the world in a physically younger, teenage-presenting body while retaining full adult intelligence.
This creates visible disconnect between how he looks and how he thinks, accelerating identity fragmentation.

EPISODE 5 — “WHOLE HOUSE MAD”

Rex Splode confronts Rudy directly over the stolen DNA used to create his body.
Tensions explode across the team as identity, ownership, and moral boundaries collapse under pressure.

EPISODE 6 — “SYSTEM RESPONSE”

During a major crisis involving Mark Grayson, Cecil orders the team to stand down.
Rudy questions the command after seeing Mark left exposed and pleading for assistance, beginning his distrust of institutional control.

EPISODE 7 — “A NAME LEFT BEHIND”

Rudy adopts the name “Rex” in an attempt to preserve meaning through legacy.
Rae strongly rejects this, escalating emotional rejection within the team and worsening internal fractures.

EPISODE 8 — “THIS DOESN’T COMPUTE”

Mark kills a man during a global-level incident.
Rudy questions Invincible’s morality and is heavily criticized by the team for his response, deepening ideological divides.

EPISODE 9 — “ALL I WANT IS TRUST”

Rudy presents an impossible Flaxan mission requiring total trust from the team.
He requests full cooperation for a high-risk dimensional operation that will determine whether he is still seen as an ally or a threat.
