YAPPING SESSION INCOMING

Here we go again :p

FOR THE MODS.

If you're a mod reading this (This very part) I just gave my opinion on the whole situation—I wasn't mean or anything in my arguments, just sharing my thoughts and speaking for the jan community that is affected (Negative) by this. If I get banned for this because I "dared to speak against the gods" or just because I gave my opinion, that (for me) shouldn't be a reason for a ban.

Instead of just banning me for stuff that I said, I would lovr to have your words because this is after all an argument, you can also reply back to things I wrote so it'd be fair. You're allowed to insult me, call me names, but as long as you reply to some of it, I'm fine.

I'm not going to just talk about the change but also about the community and how it affected some people and THEN I'll talk about the announcement itself.

Before reading please scroll down to the end and read the READ CAREFULLY before reading the entire thing. Thank you.

Well you guys know already about the situation of j.ai---no more NSFW pictures on both bot's images and bios. I was originally going to complain when it first dropped but I didn't want to be seen as a cry baby since I've already made a post about the first NSFW restriction. At first I THOUGHT it wasn't going to be a big issue until I realized that I couldn't show uncensored versions of the bots images- (Plus the Yoshiko bot for the 10k was about to be pretty if they didn't decided to make it public like this out of nowhere.) It really pissed me off 'cause how am I going to show you guys the real picture without censoring? Now I just put in bot bios so you guys can check them out (Haven't done this for old bots so I'll get to work on them whenever possible.)

After this rule every bot became UGLY, like REALLY ugly--no more bling bling in bios. People who usually make their bios clean had two reasons: One because they want an increase in chat with their bots by making it pretty--it's the concept of Aesthetic-Usability Effect: (where users tend to perceive well-designed, beautiful objects as more functional and easier to use, even if they aren't necessarily more efficient.) I mean you can still make it pretty with colors and other things (which is what I started to do) but bios don't really hit the same as they used to do anymore. If you're a bot creator or user and care about the "meta" you would've noticed that a lot of bot on the front page always had these images popping out on the card and they were ALL pretty bling bling. Male bot bios were like mine of gold with CARDS presenting their character like I kid you not I once went on a journey to see beautiful cards and just admire the work and dedication of these creators. But now everything's empty and no more journey for me. I got good news! APPARENTLY they're going to bring back images in bios in one week (from what i've been told) in a media library.

But you guys gotta realize that they work hard on these pretty things--maybe days or weeks since most of them doing these generate AI images (and if you know anyhting about AI images, it takes time, A LOT TIME). Let's put AI hate aside and just love their dedication. I have nothing against AI, really, but I do respect people who put efforts and time in their bots just for it to come out clean. Now their old work means nothing since the changes applied to every bot. Now for people like me who had uncensored versions in bios now have to go back again and change stuff for their users to see those images. This will take time for those who had a lot of bots. (Plus they upgraded their AI bot now more of my bots got censored even those who were already censored.) Work is something that may take time and I don't think that people wanna work AGAIN on something they've worked hard (or not) on. Because I care about the community I've seen some stuff about creators leaving due to their creativity being limited--second wave against NSFW, some of them were pissed off to the point they just left.

Due to these changes people went elsewhere (I won't mention but you'll figure it out soon.) and mods didn't want them to go--some were banned by mentionning that they were going somewhere else. Is j.ai really that possessive with its users? "Ohhh you said you wanted to go somewhere else? Banned." I even heard (I don't know if that is true) that there is/was a censor for mentionning the places. I even AGAIN (I don't know if it is true) that they put a legit TIMEOUT on the Discord server and users were banned from it from saying where they were heading. This, is not professional behavior. Banning because YOUR users wanted to go somewhere else is NOT what you should've done. Like what? They're forced to stick until their death? Where's the freedom of speech? Even promoting these places, I still don't understand. Can't you let them check out some stuff..? There's is no rule about mentionned other [...] yet you still banned these people. This problem of unspoken rules needs to be fixed [Cick For Proof] I was in disbelief when I heard about my fellow bot creators (friends or not) and user friends telling me that they got banned for talking about going somewhere else. Their motive were all different--leaving because their favorite bot creator moved or because of the new rule. I care deeply about this community, and seeing it makes me sad--people are leaving and I'm mad that the mods act like this. Truly unacceptable behavior. I can't be more honest than that.

All I want is the community to enjoy their moments on the sites but their creators are leaving, they're losing motivation for bot creation due to the new restrictions, and for the new rules, and I can't do anything agaisnt that. As I said to a huge bot creator: "I just want the site to be better but the mods dont care. That's one reason why i hate them" ("Better" in terms of community of course)

About The Announcement

They made it really dramatic for some reasons--I found it funny when I first read it. Then yeah, they finally revealed that the ban on NSFW images was to get funded. I mean, nice, it will upgrade the site, no queues, server issues, and more. I get it, I understand why people kind of love this update. (Althought I'll still use free service because I'll never spend money on things related to NSFW--chatting and other.)Pplus apparently, the owner was always declined any sort monetization and they now wanna keep the site afloat. But I still despite the way they wrote it. OK the site might be down within a month but there no need to write it like you've lost a war even though the site is your quote and quote "baby" and you "love the community...." yeah...mhm.

One thing is that mods do not update their rules on the website regarding all of the NSFW changes, leaving potential new arrivals confused on what's going on with the censor. Also my twin sister (the goat) alerted me about seeing the site being 12+ on the app store???

I might be tweaking tho

I interviewed a creator about the whole situation. (Anonymous of course)

Her thoughts on the images: "Well for the picture rules, it sucks. I mostly wasn't affected by it, but the fact that the site isn't willing to even have pictures from OTHER SITES on your bot in any way (even if you link them, they're against that AFAIK) just because it's displayed on their own site is a bad move. I know that shep has to fund the site, but this alienates everyone.”

Her thoughts on the site: "First of all, moderators break their own rules. You aren't allowed to promote other sites AT ALL (including ones where you can get paid), but creators who are friends with mods and even a moderator has a Patreon/KoFi they advertise. As for Wyvern, they only care because the site is an actual threat. They were fine with Chub and C.ai ads from creators for more than a year but the moment Wyvern pops up they censor any mentions of it and Chub because their user base actually has better alternatives.”

She is a devoted person when it comes to the community which is why I interviewed her.

READ CAREFULLY

Didn't go all out on the rule 'cause this would've been longer. I don't want to spread any hate on anybody or misinformation. I may be wrong on some stuff here and there, but hey, I didn't have the time to fact check some stuff. (So don't go around saying "Yoshiko said this/that" without cheking yourself please. Thank you <3.) If you're saying that I'm crying or whatever, good for you I guess. I didn't come here to REALLY complain about the rule like last time, but more on what has been going on both on the site and in my mind. Had to let this all out so I can feel lighter because everyday i felt like I HAD to do something like this. I care about the site's community--I spoke for them not for me. I've seen users who posted bots about the situation but they didn't have enough reach. So I'm using this "popularity" that I have to spread the word for everyone. All I want is everyone to enjoy their experience but if it continues like this I'll stop caring about everything.
