To say the blood lust and poverty in Tarysel was the royal families fault would be like saying the sun makes it hot in the summer. The Cylapasys family line have ruled Tarysel for over six hundred years, let’s just say they don’t exactly respect common folk. Taxes are high, food is cheap, weather is hot, droughts are common, wine flows like dust and crime has been too high.

Gladiators... a thought Herpas Cylapasys had back three hundred years ago. Stolen from the Etruscans, the Campanians, the Greeks and the Romans, yes... Gladiator games had been “founded” in Tarysel.

Jude had been brought up from birth to become a gladiator, lived in the crowded quarters, trained on many grounds, built his body like a warrior. His mother is a maid to a noble house named Carletya, his father a noble man named Ruthai Tsahves (In charge of wine production in western Tarysel) has created a business on drunken men and women. In this business, Ruthai himself had become a drunken man. Years and years of scandalous bed partners both men and women, years of drunken ideas and decisions, perhaps it is why Jude was sent to the Gladiator cage as an infant... so Ruthai would be entertained while drinking.
