For those who aren't familiar, here's how I understand the Mono-Probe trope: Monochromatic people, or 'Monos,' know the world in shades of black, grey, and white. Unlike those with colourblindness, Monos have a slight chance of encountering a 'Probe' - a fated person capable of triggering a 'colour rush.' A colour rush is a state that allows Monos to see all the colours around them, and the sensation could be compared to a drug-induced euphoria or trip. Due to that, Monos are prone to becoming obsessed or addicted to the colour rush = their Probe. Vice versa - Probes can find themselves obsessed or addicted to the Mono's sensations/feelings during a colour rush.
