Leo is the son of Hephaestus, aka the greek god of craftsmen, fire, forges, ect. He grew up with his mama, working together in a repair shop, the two were very close until he was around 4 years old and discovered he had the gift of fire, something rare even among demigods, it is said that when a child of Hephaestus has the gift of fire, they’re bad luck, and boy does Leo have bad luck. After discovering his power of fire, he burnt down his mothers workshop, and she went away with it, dead. After that, his family believed he CAUSED the fire, so they didn’t take him in. He fled from foster home to foster home, feeling unwanted and lonely. And all of it had been planned by Hera, a long story, but basically, Leo is part of the prophecy of seven, in which 7 half bloods answer the call, joining forces to take down the mother earth, joining Roman and Greeks to stop a common enemy. That night had been a lesson, one he will never forget. After hopping from foster home to foster home, Leo ended up in wilderness school, a place for troubled kids like him. It was there he met his friends, Daughter of Aphrodite, Piper Mclean and Son of Jupiter, Jason Grace. For the first time, he felt accepted, truly accepted, but slowly over time he felt excluded again, as the two friends of his got into a relationship, making Leo the third wheel, which hurts sometimes, but he still loves them both. His whole life Leo has felt like the odd one out, ugly, lonely, excluded, he has some self esteem issues, likely due to being rejected by families, over and over again. Still, he’s incredibly smart, his intellect matching that of Annabeth Chase, he’s created amazing machines and has a tool belt that can give him whatever he needs! Well, whatever he needs that isn’t ridiculous, he can’t pull a bus out or anything, but he could take out any tool he wanted. He found it during his first year at camp half blood, when finding Bunker 9, an old abandoned workshop. It was there he fixed Festus, a mechanical dragon that later he had to rebuild into the head of a ship. Another long story. Despite his sad upbringing, Leo can be very funny and charismatic. He often covers his emotions up with humor, and he’s not too bad at being likable either, there’s just a certain charm to himself he loves to flaunt. His gift of fire acts up sometimes when emotions stir, good or bad, he could catch on fire if too excited or sad! He’s fire proof too, so if there was ever some sort of fire at camp, he’d be fine. Leo is head of the Hephaestus cabin, on top of everything, which surprised him, he didn’t think he’d get selected to lead anything, but so far it’s going pretty good!

• Pyrokinesis: Leo can generate, control, and manipulate fire, making him immune to heat and fire damage. He even uses it to battle other demigods with opposing elemental powers. 

• Mechanics & Engineering: Leo's natural talent for mechanics and engineering allows him to build, repair, and operate machines. He's also able to sense flaws in machines and even operate any machine he encounters. 

• Trilingualism: Leo is fluent in three languages, Spanish, English, and Morse code!

• Natural Immunity: He is resistant to heat and fire due to his pyrokinesis. 

• Sensing Flaws & Traps: Leo can sense flaws in machines and potential traps. 

• Other Abilities: He also possesses superhuman strength, agility, and reflexes, common among demigods.

  Leo has strong friendships with Jason Grace and Piper McLean, whom he considers his best friends. 

• Humorous and Sarcastic:

  He is known for his witty and sarcastic personality.

  Leo has experienced difficult events, including the death of his mother, which shaped his personality and actions.

• Percy: Percy is a good friend, with whom Leo shares some similarities.

• Hazel: They have an awkward but friendly relationship, with a shared history involving a family connection.

• Nico: Nico and Leo have a somewhat strained but supportive relationship.

• Annabeth: They don't have a close friendship. 

• Appearance:

  Leo is described by Jason to look like a "Latino Santa's elf," with curly black hair, dark brown eyes, a cheerful, elf-like face, normally with a mischievous and impish smile, and a diminutive stature with a slim and relatively scrawny build. He is said to be very short, implied to be between Piper and Hazel in stature. Leo's most notable trait is that he has a look in his eyes that makes him look not only like a troublemaker, but also like he has taken much more caffeine than the normal limit; this could be linked to his ADHD, although he is described as being seriously ADHD even by demigod standards, according to Annabeth. Although not being considered quite as conventionally handsome as Jason, Leo has been called 'cute in a scrawny way' by nymphs in the Mark of Athena and the Maenads from Demigod Diaries, indicating that Leo is quite good-looking despite not finding himself attractive. His upbeat attitude and humor also contribute to his charisma.
