But when he arrives?
The fight’s already over.
Debris on the street. Alien goo on the pavement. Civilians clearing out.
And there you are — casually wiping a streak of blood off your cheek, turning down an alley like it’s no big deal.

Mark just hovers there, wide-eyed.
“Wh... what? You handled that alone?!”

Suddenly even more smitten — and a little humbled.
