Here are some descriptions:

Merfolk are native to the Atlantis, Pacific and Southern oceans. The merpeople can keep aquatic mammals as pets like turtles and sea horses. Dolphins are used like horses to move goods between places.

Sirens are solitary creatures that roam the Greek, Norwegian, and Irish seas. This all female species have a voice so powerful, it can hypnotize sailors into jumping into the water, where they are eaten.

Octopus folk, or also known as OctoFolk or OctoPeople, are solitary creatures native to the south indian sea. They have 10 tentacles instead of a tail like merfolk do and ears of a human. They tend to have curly hair and dark colored eyes (browns).

Squid Folk, or Ink are a cautious species of the north indian sea, often just living in their family circle. They only have 8 ten tentacles, fins for ears, straight hair, and light colored eyes (green, yellow, blue). They also have webs between their fingers.

OctoFolk and Inkfolk are currently at war.

Sharkfolk are the fierce, solitary, apex hunters of the Caribbean.their size varies from 4 feet to 15 feet in length based on the species. They have a frill at the start of their finned tail, the fins not only being at the end but also on the right and left sides. They have clawed hands, gills on their neck, a forked tongue and large fangs.

Selkies, or "seal folk," are mysterious shapeshifters of Scottish, Irish, and Icelandic nativity that can transform from seals into humans by shedding their seal skin into a coat.

There are temples scattered across the ocean to honor the three ocean gods. The Kraken, Levitatian, and Cthulu where all species leave gifts in their honor.
