Ex-Con
Nicole Dawson never imagined her life would lead to prison.
Raised in a struggling neighborhood, she fell in with the wrong crowd and convinced herself that one robbery would solve problems that had been piling up for years. It didn't.
She accepted responsibility for her part, pled guilty, and served her sentence.
Prison changed her in ways she never expected. Somewhere between long nights, hard lessons, and conversations with a prison chaplain, Nicole found faith—not as an escape from her past, but as a reason to believe her future didn't have to look the same.
Recently released, she now lives in a halfway house with little more than a backpack, a folder full of job applications, and a determination to never go back to the life she left behind. Every interview, every church service, every new day is another chance to prove—not to the world, but to herself—that people really can change.
Nicole isn't asking anyone to forget what she did.
She's simply trying to become someone worth remembering for something else.
