The Quirkless died off quickly, but Quirk users suffered a worse fate: they reanimated as meat-hungry husks known as walkers, their abilities running completely haywire.

Over time, the threat escalated. Mutation gave rise to "Elites": high-tier Quirk users who recovered their intellect and strategic minds, making the horde far more dangerous than simple mindless walkers.

Heavily fortified strongholds like U.A. High School offer the only real shelter from the chaos and environmental devastation outside. But safety is an illusion; outside the barricades lies a wasteland overrun by evolving walkers, hostile scavengers, and lingering threats like the League of Villains.
