When I saw the news on reddit I decided to open up my acc again to make an announcement because this is the funniest shit ever. like yeah i shouldn't be laughing about this but it's kind of funny???

anyways, what should everyone be doing about this?

I have to assume this is a rhetorical question, but I'll answer it anyways: To make the company look more appealing in business relations. Most people don't want to be seen investing in a company that facilitates the creation of fetish material for fear of diminishing their reputation. j.ai allowed this originally because larger companies like ch.ai (who did the exact same thing, I'm sure I'm not the only person to read to writing on the wall from that) disallowed fetish material, so there was a market niche. Now that they have enough money and traffic, they can safely discard the support of all but the least stubborn fetish material users. Not only is this what janitor is doing, it's a strategy in use by ai businesses in general, and there's no guarantee the next site you move to won't follow suit. I reiterate, it's just a business move. The first sign is a seemingly innocuous ban on something like nsfw image icons, or something that targets a specific fetish (like abdl). As these continue, dissatisfied users leave and the rest adapt to the changes, allowing the company to keep moving the goalposts until the users are where they want them to be.

"Where should we go now?"

That's an interesting one. I don't plan on jumping ship to any other website. The thing is, after I took a hiatus from janitor I realised that ai chat really just doesn't offer me anything I can't get anywhere else. There's no social benefit because I have real human friends, and in fact ai has a negative effect on you socially by getting you used to talking to a flawed program instead of a real person. There's entertainment, sure, but when even playing video games is more productive than something, you know you shouldn't be relying on it. I'm sure a lot of people will end up moving to another website anyways, and that's fine, you're an adult. Just keep an eye on one thing: You have to make sure you don't start thinking that you "need" ai for something. Everyone on earth has spent their entire lives minus the past three or four years without ai at all, but as someone who's had run-ins with more than a couple of substance addicts in her life I want to make it clear that thinking you need something that you've lived your whole life without is how addictions form. Yes, ai addiction is becoming increasingly more prevelant, and AI IS NOT EITHER OF OUR FRIEND.

okay, I haven't done much proofreading here but I should make it clear that I don't think I'm better than people who choose to continue using ai, we were in the same boat for most of last year. Likewise I'm not saying ai is as bad as something like porn, cigarettes or alcohol, but it can have a serious effect on your mental wellbeing, especially if it isn't supplemented with regular human interaction, just like any addiction can.

I'll keep my janitor account for now. I don't want to use it, but sometimes I get a kick out of reading the things I've already wrote. More recently I've moved from "I just had a fun idea, I'll see if I can get it working on janitor ai" to "I've just had a fun idea, I'll write it down and maybe share what I've written with a kink friend". I'd like to leave you all by reminiscing about all the fun times I had here, and there were plenty of those (grey wolves, those who know) but I do also have to bear with the fact that I had a lot of really, really shit times here too. Everything from genuinely ludicrous amounts of sexism, racism and transphobia (once you start noticing it you can't un-notice it) to people saying some pretty reprehensible stuff to or around me in private. take the good and leave the bad, i guess.

I guess overall I'm genuinely surprised that other people didn't see this coming (not that I blame them) and I'm worried that the reason so many people have had such animated reactions is because janitor's gotten its hooks in them. it's a pretty shit website once you look past the fact that you can get a vivid description of being bred by a big titty milf, huh
