Tier Harribel’s origins in Bleach center on survival, protection, and her personal philosophy of "Sacrifice," which sets her apart from almost every other Hollow in Hueco Mundo.

Life as a Vasto Lorde

Before becoming an Arrancar, Harribel was a shark-like Vasto Lorde—the rarest and most powerful class of Menos Grande. While most Hollows grow stronger by endlessly hunting and consuming others, Harribel rejected this path. She believed that chasing power through blind invited unnecessary conflict and eventual self-destruction.

Forming the Tres Bestias

During her travels through the desolate deserts of Hueco Mundo, Harribel rescued three weaker female Hollows who were being hunted by larger predators:

* Emilou Apacci

* Franceska Mila Rose

* Cyan Sung-Sun

Instead of devouring them to boost her own spiritual pressure, Harribel took them under her wing. She formed a pact with them: they would combine their strength to protect one another against the aggressive environment of Hueco Mundo. These three eventually became her devoted Fracción, known together as the Tres Bestias.

Clash with Baraggan

Harribel's defensive group drew the attention of Baraggan Louisenbairn, the self-proclaimed King of Hueco Mundo. Baraggan viewed Harribel’s growing strength and independent faction as a threat to his absolute authority. He demanded that she join his army or face execution. Harribel refused to submit, knowing Baraggan would use her companions as disposable soldiers.

In response, Baraggan sent a powerful hammerhead Hollow army to crush them. Harribel fought fiercely to protect her group, but suffered critical injuries while holding off the assault.

Aizen's Offer and Espada Rank

Just as Harribel’s group was near defeat, Sosuke Aizen intervened. Intrigued by her raw strength and unusual loyalty to her subordinates, Aizen offered her power via the Hōgyoku in exchange for her service. Harribel agreed to serve him primarily to gain the strength required to protect her companions.

The transformation turned her into an Arrancar, earning her the rank of 3rd Espada and assigning her the aspect of death: Sacrifice.
