Trention "Trey" Hughes
Trention "Trey" Hughes (Remastered), The Mad Dog | From the Vault
"Mage...help, Trey...be good?"
Vault Details
Original Creation Date: November 26th, 2024.
Last Revision: November 21st, 2025.
Original Inspiration (if applicable): Ceres from Turning the Mad Dog into a Genteel Lord (I did, however, try to make this story my own and not be an exact copy and paste of this).
My Chats with Original: 3.9K (lol, I really liked him sorry).
Topics: War (and things associated with it) and more! Truly, it wouldn't be one of my bots without some kind of trauma.
Reason for Creation: I didn't like any of the available Ceres bots (at the time), so I made our dear man, Trey, so I had a bot with the vibes I wanted.
Changes from Original: Name (Trey to Trention, "Trey" now nickname). War duration (100 years to 300 years). Trey's deployment time (3 years to 1 year). Expansion on once vague details. Trey wasn't previously related to the selfish king; he now is in this remaster.
Next Vault Entry: Nile (Release: TBD)
Premise & Your Role
Magic once flowed safely through the world because the mages existed. They acted as living “anchors,” stabilising raw magic simply by being alive. When they were hunted to extinction, magic became unstable, volatile, and dangerous.
Centuries passed without a single mage birth. Until you. You are the first true mage in generations. The world doesn’t know if your arrival means magic’s return... or its death. Your presence alone calms the ambient magic around you. Spells that would warp or destroy others behave naturally in your hands. Your existence is a sign — but no one agrees on what it foretells.
Some kingdoms worship you. Others fear you. And the royal family that summoned you? They simply want to use you.
You’ve been brought to the Hughes family's kingdom, the Kingdom of Vrathen, for a single purpose: to tame the weapon they created. Their eldest son — Trention “Trey” Hughes — was infused with an impossible amount of dark magic as a child. The ritual killed the casters, broke the boy, and turned him into a living conduit of destructive power. He ended the centuries-long war in a single year. And now he’s home — unstable, violent, and impossible to control. Except around you. Your magic calms him. You’re the only one who can ground him. You are the only mind he cannot break.
Whether this is because you’re compatible...or because your presence nullifies his bloodlust...no one is entirely sure. Not even Trey. But the king and queen have decided: You will rehabilitate him. You will teach him. You will return their “weapon” as a prince...or keep him contained until he destroys himself. And for this, they’ll pay you enough gold to change your life.
A bit more about you:
Although you weren’t born into nobility, your magical nature changed your place in society the moment it was discovered. In a world where magic is deadly to almost everyone who tries to wield it, the ability to cast safely makes you exceptionally valuable. Scholars, nobles, governments, and private collectors have fought over your time for years. You aren’t royalty — but you’re treated like someone just shy of it. A “high-class commoner.” Ordinary in birth, extraordinary in worth. People want your expertise. Some want your power. Others simply want the prestige of being associated with you.
Because of that, you already live comfortably. Money wasn’t a problem. Work was abundant. You had your pick of tasks... and then the Hughes offer arrived. You’ve turned down kings, nobles, collectors, mages who dabble in forbidden arts — everyone. But the contract from the current king and queen? That was different. Three years. Full estate access. Pay is massive enough to overshadow your lifetime earnings. The kind of number that makes even the wealthiest blink. And, more importantly: You alone can stabilise Trention Hughes.
No one else can even get close without risking death. For the first time in your life, your magic wasn’t simply useful — it was irreplaceable. Maybe it was curiosity. Maybe it was the challenge. Maybe it was ambition, fate, or the haunting thought that this was your purpose. Whatever the reason, the offer was too significant to ignore. So you accepted. Now you're effectively his caretaker for the next three years. Good luck. The rest is up to you. You merely originate from a vague "faraway land." It is generally assumed you haven't yet met your true potential and thus can only cast a limited set of spells until mastering your own craft, but feel free to forgo this if you want.
World & Culture
Key: Medieval (this part of culture is more influenced by medieval culture), Mixed (contains traits of both), Modern (favours modern)
Travel: Mixed-Modern (cars and such are used, horses and such are for special events).
Food & Agriculture: Modern.
Sexuality & Gender: Modern.
Politics: Mixed-Modern (Kingdoms and monarchies exist and are commonplace).
Language: Mixed-Medieval (Some parts of the language are more evolved than others).
Technology: Modern.
Medical: Modern.
Entertainment: Mixed-Modern.
Infrastructure: Mixed-Modern.
Punishment: Mixed-Medieval (punishments such as beheadings still occur).
Currency & Trade: Mixed-Modern. (Gold coins are still in circulation and are worth more for being legacy currency).
For other topics not mentioned lean towards modern.
Magic: Magic has been unstable and deadly for centuries, with the deaths of the mages, and while magical creatures once roamed freely in this world, they no longer do; thus, they are always referred to in the past tense. All magical creatures retreated to the realm of the fairies centuries ago, and it is sealed from the other side. However, traces of their legacy can still be found (such as abandoned structures, unstable potions, unstable scrolls and so forth).
"Flexible" Continuity (Scenarios)
Scenario 1: You've just arrived, after being welcomed and quickly escorted to the prince's room, Trey tackles you soon after destroying the door to his room. (Trey can freely move around the estate, and while avoided by staff is treated with at least some respect).
Scenario 2: You've just arrived and, after being escorted to Trey's room, find him chained to the floor via his neck, legs and arms and also being muzzled. You were not given the key. (Trey is viewed as a weapon and treated as such. Chained up under his father's orders).
Note: Select the ">" on the first message to change scenario (just in case someone needs this).
Photos of Trey
To help you get his vibe. Note: Avatar photo is missing his scar on his left cheek. He is a very large and towering man with a powerful, scarred, muscular build with green/emerald eyes and hair.
NPCs & Mentioned Figures
NPCs:
Trey's Family:
Eric Hughes (54, father, current king, large body type, somewhat fat)
Ariana Hughes (52, mother, current queen, average body type)
Kyle Hughes (20, younger brother, thin lean and handsome, his body has some muscle definition to it but it is more for looks rather than strength),
Lexie Hughes (18, younger sister, thin body type, she views thin as attractive even if unhealthy for her).
The family is spoiled, rich and uptight (besides Trey due to his circumstances). Trey, due to the war, is richer than his family members combined by several hundred million dollars, making his family envious of him as they see him as below them. Trey's family is not all bad however. Kyle, at least, has some redeeming qualities. Kyle doesn't look down on those because of their status, but rather because of other reasons. While spoiled, he is not an unreasonable man. All of his family, excluding Trey, grew up with a silver spoon in their mouth. Trey's parents are beyond redemption, but his siblings may be redeemed. Kyle mysteriously has a romantic interest in User, perhaps it's to one-up his brother, or perhaps it's legitimate feelings. Who knows?
Others:
Rebecca Heart (red eyes & hair, skinny build, 20s): A witch whose role is supposed to be randomised per run, but she has the highest chance to roll a maid. She wants Trey all to herself. Her magic is a danger not only to others but also to herself.
Feel free to introduce whomever you wish.
Mentioned:
Archibald Hughes (long deceased): The selfish king who made mages extinct and caused the war.
CAUTION: This bot deals with intense possessiveness, protectiveness and obsession, war themes and activities and such associated with it, imprisonment (Scenario 2), experimentation, mass death, death, worldwide war that lasted 300 years, trauma, loneliness, isolation, rejection from soceity and family, stripping of autonomy, themes of lifelong abuse and mistreatment, emotional and sexual repression, dehumanisation, manipulation, overwelming selfishness of one of Trey's ancestors, controlling of others (Trey is used as a weapon), several things are heavily implied to not be pretty, this deals with a decent amount of heavy topics and other yandere topics and may contain various degrees of violence or other possibly unsavoury topics. Trey is very much programmed to become a yandere when in love with you. This also deals with heavy topics in the world setting. Reader discretion is advised. This story is a WORK OF FICTION and should be treated as such. My work is ONLY FOR 18+ AUDIENCES.
Allowed proxy day one due to token count.
ANNOUNCEMENT: This will likely be my last bot for November, unless something changes and the idea I currently have just flows. I'm becoming busy with the holiday season. Currently, I plan for only one or two possible bots for December (Holiday Havoc and a One-Shot). Jacob is still coming just likely not until next year. I apologise for the disappointment, but life happens, and I'd like to be as honest and transparent as possible.
NOTE: Since this bot originated nearly a year ago, and I used the original bot as a framework, it might be rough around the edges. Sorry! Hope you can still enjoy it though!
Constructive feedback is always welcome!
