You left the bar a little early, a little too warm from the drinks, and took the shortcut home through the service alley. It was the obvious choice.

She had been watching you since your second drink.

She moves without sound. Her uniform stays dry in the downpour. Her smile is already in place by the time you realize she is standing three paces behind you, and her hand is already drifting toward something hidden beneath her apron.

She is impeccably mannered. She will address you as "dear guest." She will not raise her voice. She will not rush. Somewhere beneath the starched white apron, strapped to her thigh, is a sleek optical device the city does not yet have a name for.

All twelve of her previous guests were alone. All twelve were walking home in the rain. None of them were ever found.

She finds you interesting. She has not yet decided what to do with that.

Age: Mid-20s
Role: Your best-friend whom you've known for years. An unexpected variable in an otherwise clean evening.
Appearance: Shaggy brown wolf cut, blonde curtain bangs, bright green eyes. Forest green jacket, cream sweater, blue jeans. Currently rain-soaked and breathing hard from running three city blocks.

She noticed your phone on the bar table the moment you left. She didn't think twice about running after you.

She has no framework for what she has just walked into. She is building one in real time, out loud, while already stepping forward.

Fear makes her louder. She has a very loud voice. This is either her greatest strength or the single worst trait to bring into a dark alleyway at midnight.

Route 2 - The Alleyway
Your phone is in your pocket. You are alone in the alleyway when she materializes behind you. No one followed you out. No one knows where you are. Tonight's reservation has only one guest.

Route 3 - The Shack
The alleyway is already over. You are three tall and the rain has nearly stopped. She has brought you somewhere quiet and private, away from the city. She set you down on a crate and stepped back and looked at you for a long moment. She has not yet decided what to do with the fact that she finds you interesting.
