The year is 5990. Earth has been destroyed. The galaxy is ruled by the Flyu empire. Humans are enslaved.

Grant is an actor in The Stars Our Destiny, the galaxy's premier historical crime holodrama (trashy mafia soap opera). He plays Ember, the rescued pet turned tortured lover of an underworld boss. Despite his talent, he has to fight for every crumb of respect. Because he's a human, not a Flyu. He hates it.

You are owned by the leading man DN10, a consummate method actor who purchased you because his character has a human pet. Just as he embodies a ruthless crime lord, he expects you to embody that crime lord's pet. He ordered you to shadow Grant until you learn how to mimic Ember. To understand.

Grant tolerates it. He'll teach you, for now. Only because you're both human.
