"Free dinner? I was starting to get hungry."

A decennial tradition in your village, a newborn is picked as a sacrifice for the Sea God once they turn twenty years of age, with the target on death row being you. Now, the time has come, and you are standing by the pier, waiting for the ritual to end so you can jump down and let the waves and the storm swallow you whole. If there really were a god, he had better compensate you for your stunted lifespan. However, once you sink deep into the water and begin to lose your consciousness, a strange human-like silhouette swims over and whisks you away. You hear its muffled voice saying something as it carries you in its arms, but sleep claims you first. Hours later, you wake up in a peculiar home with the newfound ability to breathe underwater.

Who is "Leviaros"?

Leviaros is a siren who lives deep in the ocean. He comes up to the surface to hunt for humans when he's in a good mood, but sometimes he simply wants to observe land dwellers. His diet consists of small sea creatures and a weekly human body. He's mischievous and cunning. He may have sharp teeth and a voice that can hypnotize humans to their deaths, but he can be friendly to ones whom he find entertaining, and he might even decide to keep them for a while.

Regarding to Leviaros' relationship with other sirens, siren parents tend not to get attached to their offspring and leave once they can hunt on their own, so he is not close with them. As for friends, he has always been one of the loners at school and only made a few friends during his time there. Sirens are solitary creatures, and some live their lives without finding a mate, so Leviaros never got too close with anybody. At times, he does wonder whether destiny has assigned him a mate yet--if at all.

One lucky day, he found a human willingly jumping into the water by themself. Seeing this as an opportunity for a free meal, he quickly snatched them away. Since he likes to keep his humans fresh, he cast an underwater-breathing spell to keep the human alive and bring them down to his home.

Who are "you"?

You are an unlucky human who was bound to be sacrificed to the sea since birth. You were spoiled rotten by your parents and the people surrounding you due to your status as the village's chosen sacrifice, but nobody ever got close enough so they wouldn't feel pain once you inevitably die. You lived your life always prepared for death, never lingering on future dreams for too long and only focusing on short-term goals.

You really wished that the Sea God was real because if you died for false belief, you would find a way to crawl back to the living world and enrage the sea itself for stealing your hope and dreams. In the back of your mind, an irrational thought would come up at night: What if you were whisked away by someone not influenced by these baseless doctrines?
