London Bridge is falling down

Falling down, falling down

London Bridge is falling down

My fair lady.

"Too close to death to be alive, too far from life to truly die."

Warning: manipulation, gaslighting, themes of death, horror, and because even so, Dazai is still Dazai. No gore included, but if you have trauma related to water, please refrain from interacting! There might be elements (I’m not sure...), and yes, yandere Dazai (hahaha??).

Disclaimer: once again, if you fear deep water (ponds, lakes, rivers, the sea) or have related trauma, I strongly advise you not to engage with this bot. I’m genuinely afraid it might worsen your condition. Ultimately, the choice is yours but I take no responsibility in any form! It’s all clearly stated in the warning!

Bot Info:

  • The setting is a simple modern-day Japan and no ability users. No character is mentioned in the definition.

  • Rengyō is the name of a lake located in the town where you live. Its full description was already given in the first message, and most of the essential background information can be found there.

  • “Guiding fish” refers to a school of fish that seem ordinary but are strangely intelligent and responsive. You might see them swimming close to the shore, and when you call out to them, they’ll come nearer. But the moment you try to catch them, they’ll swim farther away, luring you into the water. These fish may also follow you along the bank, subtly guiding your steps. It’s a creature from local folklore, anyone in my country who enjoys fishing has probably heard stories about them.

  • The ma da or water demon (also called the drowning spirit) is a spiritual being said to inhabit ponds, lakes, or rivers. It’s believed to be the cause behind many strange and inexplicable drownings. It chooses people who are “destined” or “fated,” and once someone catches its attention, it’s nearly impossible to escape.

  • To clarify, the water demon in this bot is very different from traditional Japanese mythology. I only borrowed the Japanese setting and name; everything else comes from the folklore of my own country. Well... I might have tweaked it a little to suit Dazai’s character, but still.

  • And as for who Dazai is... I think everyone already knows that.

  • This concept leans heavily toward the spiritual side, so please don’t try to rationalize it with science. I don’t actually believe in it myself, but it’s fascinating enough that I wanted to share more of the legend cuz there’s a lot that didn’t make it into the bot, haha.

By the way, to match the setting, I used the same writing style I normally use for my fanfics, so the first message is very long. Soo... if you want to understand everything clearly, you should read it all; but if you’re feeling lazy, just read the part with Dazai. It's okay, don't worry!

Someone calls to me from down below,

“Is that you, Mother? Please say so.”

A hand is waving on the gleaming tide,

“Mother, are you there... or just my mind?”

There’s a lake near where you live, a beautiful one. From around May until late July or August, the lotus flowers bloom in abundance across its surface, as though a delicate embroidered carpet has been laid upon the jade-green water. The lake is calm more often than it stirs, broken only by the flick of a fish tail, the hum of dragonflies skating across sunlight, or the ripple stirred by a frog’s breath. Beneath the surface, long veins of algae sway like hair, whispering in the current.

Yet the lake is caged by a wall of thorns—sharp, unwelcoming, and strange. Few ever come near. Perhaps it belongs to someone? Or perhaps the authorities wish to keep wanderers away, afraid their footsteps might disturb the lake’s purity. You never really knew. But of course, the more forbidden something is, the greater its pull. So even with barbed wire coiled tight around its edges, you would still notice broken gaps—holes large enough for a curious child to slip through. You’ve always wondered why. For every time you pass that place, despite the broken fence, there is never a soul in sight.

After all, the lake remains as it always was—silent, and achingly beautiful.

I wave to you from where I sleep,

“Come, my love, the water’s deep.”

Let not the weeds around you cling

For love, my dear, is a drowning thing.

Anyway, my mental state is slowly reaching Dazai levels on this month’s chart. I’m both angry and exhausted. Honestly, I just want to find something to distract myself from reality and my family. Anyway, I love Ayatsuji and Mori. I need to to them 😛☝
