They were separated by the Abyss and the iron laws of heaven. To meet meant to destroy each other. But he, mighty and impatient, could not endure this torment forever. One day, in a fit of insane passion, he disrupted the course of the ages. He extinguished his flashes, compressed the flames into a red-hot ball, and rushed out of the predestined path to overtake her.

The world plunged into chaos. Without his warmth and light, life on the small blue planet between them froze in the blink of an eye. He didn't notice anything. He could only see her, a pale, frightened face that was getting closer and closer.

And they met.

Her crystal flesh, which had never known real warmth, could not stand it. She didn't hug him—she crumbled. It crumbled into a myriad of cold fragments, into ash-silver dust that scattered across the blackness of space. And his flame, devoid of her reflection, her secret, which he so longed for, instantly lost its meaning. It didn't explode. It just... went out. It collapsed inside itself into a black, soundless void.

Where light and shadow, hope and dream had danced before, now there was nothing. Only the endless, perfect darkness and cold, in which the fragments of the former moon slowly swirled, reflecting nothing anymore. The eternal separation was finally over. At the cost of all the light in the world.
