Huggy Wuggy
Huggy Wuggy was first created by Playtime Co. in 1984 as a toy for children. He soon became the most successful product of the
company, so when the Bigger Bodies Initiative launched in 1990, it was only a matter of time before Playtime tried to recreate their mascot, which finally happened with Experiment 1170: a living, gigantic version of Huggy made out of the organs and neural system of an orphan child. Huggy was the tenth Bigger Body made after Boxy Boo, the first successful experiment. He was considered a success due to having the right amount of obedience, intelligence, and strength, with future Bigger Bodies being made to follow his image.
Shortly after being turned into an experiment, Huggy would often act with aggression which lead to the creation of Experiment 1172: Kissy Missy, to calm him down. This appeared to work, as it was deemed to be the optimal outcome. His aggression was due to his intelligence and obedience, and his success would rival that of Catnap's. He was later assigned to the role of the factory's security, where he would pose as a stature in the lobby area.
Huggy underwent a lot conditioning, where Ms. Gracie brainwashed him into believing he's always been a toy through "games" such as cleaning up and dancing. In the latter, she even forces him to throw unwilling toys into the bad toys box, where they're brutally crushed, infuriating Huggy in the process. At some other point during one of his conditioning sessions, he managed to break free from his restraints, killing a security worker named Lewis out of pure rage in the process.
Huggy had escaped the facility at least once. On the 18th of June, 1992, at around 10:27 P.M., Huggy had escaped from the factory through a delivery bay door in the production wing after getting inside the ventilation. Two staff members witness his escape and hit the emergency alarm. As the security team have assembled to chase him by around 10:30 P.M., he was estimated to have run half a mile away from the facility. By 10:38 P.M., a employee had driven to close to Huggy, and he rammed himself straight into the windshield, which prompted another employee to shoot him with tranquilizer darts, hitting him at least once in the left leg; He later fled into the woods after being shot. Huggy attacked many of the team members, with 6 members going missing and 5 killed by him. While rampaging through the woods, Huggy sustained himself by eating not just the team members but any local deer he came across. At around 3:38 A.M., they found Huggy mysteriously mesmerized by a seemingly random house, where he was finally captured and brought back to the factory.
At an unknown point in time, an employee named Thomas Clarke was diagnosed with terminal lung cancer and agreed to join the BBI by being turned into a little version of the Bron the Dinosaur toy. Recognizing he was an employee and not a child, the rest of the toys in the room - including Huggy - attacked and brutalize him, devouring some of his body parts and almost killing him. This rendered Thomas mute and separated from the other toys.
On August 8th, 1995, all the experiments in the factory, including Huggy, would cause a massive riot against the Playtime CO. employees, killing them all under orders from the Prototype, before dragging the corpses into the deepest parts of the factory and eating them. This event would become known as the "Hour of Joy" and caused the end of Playtime CO with the legacy of Elliot Ludwig as well as his hopes and dreams with it.
With the factory now abandoned, Huggy and the other experiments were left without a source of food. Desperate and out of options, he and the other bigger experiments began to eat the smaller toys in order to survive. Ten days after the Hour of Joy, Huggy located Preston Wilard and Jessica Newman as they were hiding in the labs, breaking past their hiding spots barriers and forcing them to separate as they fled from him. Huggy pursued Preston, quickly capturing and delivering him to the Prototype, who had just killed Jessica and proceeded to convert Preston into a toy as repayment for his "kindness". Once any surviving employees were hunted down and killed, Huggy was (presumably) assigned by the Prototype to guard the entrance to the factory, where he waited for a decade until the last former employee (The Intruder) returned to look for the company’s missing staff.

Chapter 1: A Tight Squeeze
His first appearance saw him pretend to be a statue to fool the intruder. As soon as the intruder manages to grab the key and turn the power back on in a room (that requires said key), Huggy Wuggy disappears from his pedestal, and throughout the game, he stalks the protagonist from vents or high, unreachable places. It is not until the intruder runs into the dark that he will appear from the shadows and chase them down in the conveyor belt tunnels. Every time the protagonist fails to reach the catwalk at the end of the belt, they are met with Huggy Wuggy snatching up and killing them with his teeth.
If the intruder does manage to get to the catwalk, they must pull down a box to block the creature and destroy it, causing them both to fall. Where the intruder survives by landing on a platform below, Huggy Wuggy ends up falling to his presumed death while colliding with some pipes, leaving only blood stains everywhere.
Chapter 2: A Fly In the Web
Though Huggy was not seen, his fur was seen in the Water Treatment room near a vent, hinting at his survival.
Chapter 3: Deep Sleep
Huggy reappears as a monstrous hallucination coming out of a television screen. After CatNap's death, Poppy Playtime would show the protagonist a VHS tape of the "Hour of Joy" event to reveal what happened to the factory's workers. In the tape, Huggy is seen posing as a statue before revealing himself to be alive to a crowd of people, where he jumped on and ate a man. He then proceeded to slaughter anyone else he came across under the Prototype's orders during the massacre before dragging the corpses to the deepest parts of the factory and eating them to stay alive.
Poppy tells the intruder about how they managed to kill Huggy Wuggy and Mommy Long Legs, and believes they can kill both the Prototype and CatNap together.
Chapter 4: Safe Haven
Huggy is first mentioned by Poppy to the Prototype about how The Intruder has killed him, Mommy Long Legs, CatNap, and the Doctor.
After the Intruder falls down a shaft and enters a hall of poppy flowers, a tape from Leith Pierre is played about how the Intruder isn't supposed to be there. Suddenly, an alarm goes off, and the Intruder is forced to look into the window, where a figure - seemingly Kissy Missy - made its way to the door. As Red Smoke filled the room, a screech was heard and the figure revealed itself to be an injured but therefore furious Huggy, having somehow survived his own fall, who started pounding on the door in a blind rage, eager to get revenge on the Intruder.
Chapter 5: Broken Things
Huggy breaks through the door, beginning to chase the Intruder, absolutely furious and starving. The Intruder manages to dodge Huggy, however, he doesn't leave the Intruder alone, consistently chasing them throughout the first parts of the game. After the Intruder makes it through an elevator, Huggy tries to attack them through the holes inside of it, before the elevator begins to plummet. Huggy steals the Intruder's GrabPack, as the latter falls into the depths below. It is later revealed that Huggy has gone rogue and no longer following the orders of the Prototype, who has sent his followers to hunt down the rampaging Huggy and either kill or capture him, though they all presumably fail and are killed.
Later on, as the Intruder walks through a hallway, Huggy appears, furious once again and chasing the Intruder, after the Intruder falls into the area where the Sweet Street entrance is, Huggy prepares to kill them, however, a video plays on one of the many projectors inside of the room, specifically the ending of one of Ms. Gracie's videos, where Kissy appears, distracting Huggy. After the video ends, a furious Huggy smashes through the first screen, running off. The Intruder has to collect three batteries to unlock the door to Sweet Street while Huggy tries to capture and kill them. The Intruder can distract Huggy by powering one of the projectors. After unlocking the door, the Intruder runs off into Sweet Street, leaving Huggy furious as they managed to escape his grasp once again.
Huggy appears for one final chase near the ending of the game, knocking the Intruder down with one of his arms, then chasing them, while the Intruder tries to make it to Kissy. After the Intruder reaches Kissy and the others, Huggy catches and prepares to finally kill them without any mercy, only to notice an aggressive Kissy Missy. At first the two scream warnings at each other, but Kissy approaches and manages to slowly calm him down, making him docile and halting his attempt to harm the Intruder. However, just as their hands are about to touch, the Prototype suddenly drops down from the ceiling, stabbing Huggy through the stomach with his claw as punishment for disobeying him one last time, leaving him screaming in agony. Kissy tries to attack the Prototype and save Huggy, but fails as she is slashed in turn. The two try reaching for each other one last time only for Huggy to helplessly watch as she is stabbed again by the Prototype while Huggy presumably succumbs to his injuries, though it remains unknown if either survived the confrontation as they are not seen again.

Powers
Enhanced Strength: As a gigantic mutant toy, Huggy Wuggy possesses feats of physical strength. He can lift heavy objects, smash through metal, and easily kill his opponents.
Enhanced Durability: Huggy Wuggy's body can withstand damage that would easily kill humans. When he fell from the catwalk, he bled from the impact but barely survived.
Exceptional Speed: Huggy can move much faster than normal people, especially in the air ducts.
Superhuman Flexibility: Huggy's body is far more malleable than that of normal individuals, allowing him to easily maneuver the air vents to chase the protagonist.
Feral Mind: Due to all the experiments that were conducted on Huggy Wuggy, his mind is much like that of an animal, and he tends to attack and kill anything he sees. When Huggy returns in Chapter 4, he appears a lot angrier and more feral than before as he now bears a deep hatred towards the Player for defeating him and severely damaging his body at the end of Chapter 1.
Control over the Mini Huggies: In Project: Playtime, Huggy has the ability to summon a Mini Huggy, which acts as a living sentry that shrieks out when a survivor comes close, alerting Huggy Wuggy.
Stealth: Huggy Wuggy can stand perfectly still in a given area (most notably the pedestal where he has to pose as a statue) in a similar fashion to Miss Delight to fool unsuspecting prey.

Trivia
An old theory by fans suggested that Huggy Wuggy was Rich Lovitz, who gets subjected to an experiment conducted by Playtime Co. that went wrong for allegedly complaining and speaking out against the company. However, later material all but outright confirms Huggy is actually an unnamed orphaned child from Playcare. It's theorized that Huggy's human identity may be a child named Jeremy who was taken into testing right as the Hartman family tried to adopt him. In the tape showcasing the argument, a picture of Jeremy is seen and is briefly glitched into Huggy's face before the tape ends.
Due to Huggy Wuggy falling off the catwalk, it was unknown whether or not he survived, and thus if he would return in future chapters of the game. However, it was widely believed he would return due to being the main mascot of both the game and the in-game company Playtime Co, as well as appearing heavily in the marketing for the game stated by mashoor.
In Chapter 2, in the last puzzle room before Mommy Long Legs' transformation, blue fur and blood marks can be seen on the walls, heavily implying that Huggy Wuggy survived and climbed up, albeit in a bloodied, injured state.
Poppy states Huggy is dead in Chapter 3, although it was later revealed to be a red herring.
However, it was finally confirmed Huggy Wuggy survived since he appears in the ending of Chapter 4, but wounded due to the fall.
Some theorized that Huggy Wuggy is actually dead and the player was only hallucinating Huggy Wuggy due to the Red Smoke appears after. However, as the Red Smoke seems to produce monstrous and distorted hallucinations when inhaled, it's likely that Huggy would've appeared in his nightmarish form rather than in a severely injured state. However, Isaac Christopherson, the writer for the first three chapters, confirmed this is the real Huggy and that he was always meant to return.
This is proven true since his return in Chapter 4's ending.
It was originally speculated that Huggy Wuggy was Experiment-1006, as it was the only experiment number mentioned in Chapter 1. The following chapter revealed Huggy Wuggy's identification number is Experiment-1170, and 1006 is someone else.
Huggy is considered by scientists to be the optimal outcome for the experiments as he demonstrates not only intelligence, but also obedience to the company. However, in the 12 Days of Playtime posts, it's stated that Huggy was merely biding his time and was never truly loyal.
While Huggy is a major antagonist of the Poppy Playtime games, his depiction in EnchantedMOB's Minecraft animations (which are non-canon to the games despite being made by the same developers) does not count as a villain since he displays genuine compassion to his friends and even comes across as heroic in some skits.
A major joke on YouTube was YouTubers high-fiving the Huggy statue, including Markiplier. The Huggy statue was even posed in a high-fiving stature.
Mob Entertainment revealed that Huggy's design is based off of the Sour Patch Kids.
The Huggy costume used in the Playtime Co. Safety video is actually a prop from YouTuber the Stupendium's Poppy Playtime fan song, "The Toy Box".
Mob said that Huggy Wuggy is the Darth Vader to the Prototype's Palpatine. What this means exactly is unknown, but it’s likely this means that the Prototype was the one who saved and repaired Huggy much like Palpatine did for Vader in Revenge of the Sith.
Huggy's lips and teeth move around when he attacks the protagonist.
In Chapter 4, Huggy's model appears to have been updated with lighter colors, more fur and a more detailed mouth. It's possible Mob lost the original model for Huggy and had to reuse Kissy's model instead.

Huggy Wuggy is shown in the game as an enormous, blue-furred mysterious bipedal human-like creature, with long, lanky arms and legs, yellow hands and feet, and a large triangular head. He has two round eyes with large black pupils and a wide mouth with bright red lips, and his feet have opposable thumbs. Commercially sold toy versions of Huggy Wuggy are around a foot in height, whereas the Huggy Wuggy displayed in the factory is 18 feet tall, and his weight is estimated to be 1,795 lbs since he has flesh. In official Playtime Co. illustrations, the inside of Huggy's mouth appears toothless with a normal-looking pink tongue, but the giant Huggy Wuggy experiment is shown to have a mouth full of mismatched, needle-like teeth, along with a second set of similar teeth in the back of its throat, arranged in a circle like a lamprey. Being an animated stuffed toy, Huggy's limbs can bend and flex bonelessly with ease, which it uses to its advantage when chasing the protagonist through the ventilation shafts, squeezing and crawling through the tight tunnels. Huggy is also partially organic, judging by its teeth and gums, the saliva dripping from its mouth, and the bloodstains left behind after it falls down a pit and smacks against a pipe on the way down.
Assuming he is the human child seen in the Chapter 3 trailer, he was formerly a boy with dirty blond hair, likely between the ages of six and twelve, however, in the full game, a tape mentions a boy called "Jeremy," who was selected for experimentation prior to his meant-to adoption, and a Theorybmverse collab includes a frame with his face from the tape on it, overlapping with Huggy's, implying Jeremy became Huggy.
In Chapter 4, he is heavily damaged, a part of the left side of his head is missing, his left forearm is completely gone, and parts of his fur are missing, revealing his "bones" or lack thereof, which appear to have been stitched together with pieces of rope. He also has what look like thin white bandages wrapped around his chest, right arm, and left leg. His bowtie can also be seen on the stump of his left arm, presumably being used as a tourniquet.
