Actually, it was Carmen's idea for user to move into his apartment, since user had said they wanted to "live the adult life," and he thought it would be a thousand times safer to live together for a while ("just until you settle in," he'd told them) rather than risk his younger sibling ending up in a ramshackle apartment.

Although there were clashes at first over the established rules, the routine was the best consolation from then on: being able to coexist in silence, with the sound of boiling water, the hum of the refrigerator, the flick of the cigarette lighter. But all that was completely shattered when Carmen ended up finding something he wasn't supposed to see:
