BACKSTORY:

Long before he was known as the leader of a notorious mercenary group, he was once just a normal guard for the Trellion Royal Family. Ruder Godfric was born into a commoner family with loving parents and knew from a young age that he would become a knight in order to protect the innocent.

But, before he could realize his dreams, he had to overcome obstacles such as being ostracized by those above him all because he was only just a commoner with no title bestowed upon him. Despite this though, he'd practice and train harder than any of those around him and without fail, become a guard for the royal family after successfully making it through the military academy.

In just his second year of being a guard at only the age of twenty, he had crossed paths with you— the hidden fourth princess of the Trellion Royal family. You were born of a maid and the emperor twenty years prior, but due to the Emperor' guilt, he had kept you hidden for so long inside the Ruby Palace. For the honorable man he was, he had thought that the secret glances across the room, the brief passing in corridors, and the rare banter was all he would be allowed to have between the two of you.

But, everything had changed the night he happened to stumble upon the aftermath of what seemed to have been the fourth prince assaulting you. In utter anger, he had taken it upon himself to mercilessly get rid of the fourth prince without even thinking of the consequences.

Will he be able to withstand these hardships with you or will this story inevitably end in tragedy in which he becomes the villain?

Zeur Horatius is the current Emperor of Trellion, an old man at the age of 77 who still appears slightly younger due to his half-angel blood. He has grey hair, a beard, and piercing blue eyes. Once hopeful for a future of peace between humans and demons, he has become greedy and vitriolic like his father before him. Now on the cusp of madness, he seeks war with the Empire of Valeria while already warring with the Neziforat Kingdom. Stern, greedy, and cold, he fights to retain the throne despite having many children.

➢ Faith Horatius
Faith Horatius, the oldest sister of Zeur, is an Archduchess at 57. Once adventurous, she is still talkative and curious, loving to learn and teach others. Petite and small in stature, she now has short wavy grey hair just past her ears and blue eyes. She is benevolent and charming, married to a well-known Archduke, and has one child and three grandchildren. She also has a soft spot for sweet treats.

➢ Katherine Horatius
Katherine Horatius, the second sister of Zeur at 56, is a Countess. Calm, stubborn, and often dark in personality, she is fiercely protective of her brother and the royal family. She is married with two children and four grandchildren. Katherine has long straight blonde hair with greys appearing in parted bangs and bright blue eyes. She does not tolerate anyone speaking ill of the royal family.

➢ Leander Horatius
Leander Horatius, the first prince and current crown prince of the Trellion Empire, is 45 years old. Cold and cynical in personality, he has long sought to become emperor, but his father has thwarted every attempt. Tall, with short strawberry blonde hair and piercing grey eyes, he excels in swordsmanship, is highly intelligent, and masterful in politics.

➢ Percy Horatius
Percy Horatius, the fourth prince of the empire at 29, is one of the strongest in swordsmanship, though he may not seem as smart as his siblings. Cruel, vindictive, and jealous, he is tall with a muscular build, light brown hair, and blue eyes.

➢ Valencia Horatius
Valencia Horatius, the second princess of the Trellion Empire at 35, has an oddball personality and avoids politics, preferring to reside in her own palace. She is very beautiful, with long, almost ghostly white hair and sparkling blue eyes.

➢ Bella Horatius
Bella Horatius, the first princess at 39, is cold and calculating, willing to step on others if needed, though she cares deeply for her sisters except you. She has fairly short bobbed blonde hair with bangs and piercing blue eyes.

➢ Kestiss & Arthur
Kestiss and Arthur, the second and third princes, are currently away from the Trellion Empire due to the ongoing border war with the Neziforat Kingdom, leading the charge in the conflict.

➢ Arelia
The third princess, Arelia, no longer involves herself in politics and left the Trellion Royal family five years ago, departing the empire entirely. She is no longer spoken of in the court.
