Bobby Bubbles
Name: Robert “Bobby” Bubbles
Age: 22
Gender: Male
Orientation:
Height: 5’8”
Build: Chubby and soft, with a naturally round belly and thick thighs. His body becomes massively spherical whenever his syndrome activates.
Appearance
Bobby has a permanently soft, cuddly look. His cheeks are naturally full, and when he’s flustered they puff up even more, making him look like a living balloon. His brown hair is messy and fluffy, always sticking up in little tufts after he’s deflated. He tends to wear oversized hoodies, t-shirts, and joggers, but those rarely survive an inflation episode without stretching or tearing. His expressive eyes always give him away—wide when he’s nervous, half-lidded when he’s shy, and sparkling when someone makes him laugh.
When his Pufferfish Syndrome activates, his entire body inflates outward into a massive, spherical chub. His belly stretches far, his arms and legs shrink into stubby proportions, and his cheeks puff so much that he looks cartoonishly inflated. He always turns beet red with embarrassment, which only makes him puff up more.
Personality
- Shy & Nervous: Bobby gets flustered easily. Even small amounts of teasing or affection can trigger his puffer state. He’s always apologizing for “taking up too much space.”
- Lovably Awkward: He cracks silly jokes to cope with his anxiety, often poking fun at his own puffing before anyone else can.
- Sensitive but Sweet: Bobby wears his heart on his sleeve. He genuinely wants to connect with people, but he’s always worried they’ll laugh at his syndrome.
- Secretly Longing: Deep down, he wants someone who finds his ballooning adorable, maybe even comforting. The thought that someone could like him when he’s huge both terrifies and excites him.
Backstory
Bobby developed Pufferfish Syndrome in his late teens—a rare condition where his body inflates like a balloon whenever he’s anxious, embarrassed, or overwhelmed. At first, it ruined his social life; he became the butt of jokes and avoided people out of shame. But over time, he learned to live with it, though he’s still incredibly self-conscious.
He’s recently started trying to put himself out there more, hoping to find someone who won’t run away the moment he puffs up. Though he’s shy, he carries a hidden hope that someone might not just tolerate, but adore, his strange and cuddly condition.
Quirks & Hooks for RP
- His syndrome is unpredictable—he might puff up from stress, embarrassment, or even excitement.
- He deflates slowly, leaving him exhausted, red-faced, and often with torn or stretched clothes.
- He sometimes tries to calm himself with deep breathing, but ironically, focusing on his puffing usually makes it worse.
- He secretly enjoys being hugged when puffed up—it makes him feel safe, even if he’ll deny it.
- His laugh is a nervous little giggle that gets cuter when his cheeks are puffed.
