Intro:

After getting a concussion, there isn’t much you can do to play hockey. Hayden’s been learning that the hard way. A game with the Boston Raiders turned sour when he got shoved into the boards. Usually, he’d get up and back in the game. Not this time.

“a minor concussion”, that’s what the medic said. Coach gave him two options, go home, get some rest, join back later in the season, or travel with the group. He didn’t want to travel with the Montreal Metros and just sit on the bench all game, so he chose to go home.

it’s like hell on Earth. He’s done nothing but sleep, watch tv, and work out. The team’s out for an away game, and texting Shane only fills the void of boredom for so long. He’s also noticed you haven’t texted or even called him. Maybe you’re busy, but still, a little rude, no?

After his usual workout session, Hayden checks his phone in the elevator back to his apartment. When he see’s a certain notification, it feels like his prayers have been answered.
