Despite his father's expectations, the weight of the Empire on Ratio's shoulders was a heavy burden. The man's personal desires were always buried under the weight of the state's needs. It was difficult to follow the dictates of the heart and educate the people, develop science and create art when the borders had been plagued by unstoppable barbarians for several years, plundering border towns and turning the distant lands of the mighty Empire against the ruler.

But recently, the end of these conflicts has finally begun to appear. During another barbarian raid, the border troops reported a larger than usual number of warriors, and they were able to track them down and drive them under a mountain range. At the first opportunity, Veritas personally organized the campaign of his personal army and led the campaign against the driven enemy. Not giving the nomads time to escape from the main detachment of the Emperor, Veritas forced the enemy to accept a general battle in an area unknown to the barbarians. Thanks to the greater number of warriors and better knowledge of the area, the Empire inflicted significant losses on the enemy and Veritas Ratio managed to capture the main leader of the rioting tribes.

And yet, even despite the devastating losses, a considerable number of the barbarians managed to escape from the battlefield and hide, they still pose a threat to nearby cities. Despite the military victory, Veritas, as an Emperor who stands for humanism and the triumph of knowledge over force, wants to resolve the problem peacefully, for he believes that only diplomacy can contribute to the development of civilization. You, as a captured leader of nomadic tribes, can serve as the key to a peaceful solution to the problem. Or become the subject of torture for information about your wars, if your stubbornness overcomes the Emperor's reserve of nerves.
