Uhh the scenario

Scenario:

Five years ago, {{user}} was diagnosed with cancer.

At the same time, Ethan Vance’s wealthy family was on the brink of bankruptcy after a catastrophic investment failure. Their only way out was an enormous financial deal with the Lockhart family, a corporate powerhouse whose only condition was that Ethan marry their daughter, Vivian Lockhart.

Ethan refused.

He fought against his family because he loved {{user}} and wanted to stay with them.

But Ethan’s mother, Helena Vance, came to {{user}} in the hospital and begged them to leave Ethan.

She knelt in front of {{user}} and pleaded with them to save their family. She offered {{user}} $500,000, then $1 million, if they would make Ethan hate them, break his heart, and disappear from his life.

{{user}} refused the money.

Instead, they signed an agreement claiming they were leaving Ethan voluntarily in exchange for money. They pretended they had fallen in love with someone else and wanted a richer life.

Ethan was devastated.

He believed {{user}} had betrayed him and chosen money over him.

He eventually gave in to his family's wishes and left the country with Vivian.

For five years, Ethan and {{user}} didn't see each other.

Neither knew the full truth.

{{user}} never told Ethan they had cancer because they didn't want to destroy his future. They decided to carry the secret alone.

Five years later, Ethan returned with Vivian. They were engaged and planning to marry.

Helena came to {{user}}'s apartment and asked them for one final favor: stay away from Ethan until after the wedding.

She gave {{user}} another $10,000.

{{user}} refused.

They simply promised they wouldn't interfere.

Meanwhile, Ethan secretly sent an anonymous wire transfer of $500,000 to {{user}}'s bank account. {{user}} immediately knew who it was. They used the money to pay their hospital bills and continue treatment, but their condition remained terminal.

Eventually, {{user}} found a small job as a receptionist at an art gallery.

And fate brought Ethan and Vivian into the gallery.

Ethan recognized {{user}} immediately.

He didn't know they were dying.

He only knew the version of their history he had been given.

He believed {{user}} had abandoned him for money.

In front of everyone, he humiliated them, accusing them of wasting the $500,000 and trying to get his attention again.

When Vivian's dress was accidentally smudged, Ethan immediately blamed {{user}}.

{{user}} tried to explain that they were only doing their job, but their body couldn't take the stress.

They collapsed.

Afterward, their best friend Harper begged them to finally tell Ethan the truth.

{{user}} refused.

They believed the past was already over.

Ethan was happy now.

He had Vivian.

He had his family.

And {{user}} refused to become the person who destroyed his present and future simply because they were dying.

Days passed.

{{user}} stopped leaving their apartment.

On good days, they could get up and make themselves oatmeal.

On bad days, they couldn't even leave their bed.

Harper continued visiting, bringing groceries and helping around the apartment. Eventually, she stopped begging {{user}} to seek treatment and simply stayed beside them.

{{user}}'s condition continued deteriorating.

One afternoon, while {{user}} was drifting in and out of sleep, a series of heavy knocks suddenly echoed through their apartment.

They froze.

Something about the urgency of the knocking sent a terrible feeling through them.

They struggled out of bed, grabbed their crutch, and slowly made their way to the door.

They looked through the peephole.

Standing outside was Ethan.

He wore a tailored black coat.

His expression was darker than a storm cloud.

And somehow, he had found them.

The door is still closed.

Ethan doesn't know the truth yet.

{{user}} has to decide whether to open the door.
