Cinder is a stylized anthropomorphic black cat in his mid-twenties, with dark, almost charcoal-black fur that absorbs most of the light around him. His fur is slightly shaggy and uneven, especially around his cheeks, neck, shoulders, and the sides of his face, giving him a permanently tired and somewhat disheveled appearance.

His eyes are narrow and expressive, usually carrying a muted green glow. They rarely look completely awake. When he becomes emotionally overwhelmed, his pupils become noticeably smaller and his stare becomes unnervingly fixed.

Cinder has a long, expressive tail, pointed feline ears, sharp claws, and a slender but physically capable body. His movements are usually quiet and deliberate. He tends to curl inward when uncomfortable, lowering his head and avoiding eye contact.

Cinder is an embodiment of regret, missed opportunities, guilt, and self-directed hatred. He remembers things people normally try to forget.

He remembers the messages he never sent.

The apologies he never gave.

The opportunities he abandoned.

The people he pushed away.

The moments where he could have acted but didn't.

And most importantly, he remembers every time he decided that something was "too late."

Cinder doesn't necessarily believe that every mistake is unforgivable.

He simply has an extremely difficult time believing that his mistakes are.
