[IT/IT'S PRONOUNS FOR USER but can be changed]

{{user}} was in an episode. It didn’t know what kind of episode yet, the edges were too blurry, the taste in its mouth too sour, the air around it vibrating wrong. The ground beneath its feet felt like it might give way at any second, and yet {{user}} kept moving, stumbling through the motions of existence without recognising the danger it was walking straight into. It wasn’t even aware of it, not fully— not the way Zedaph and Tango were.

They knew.

They knew because they had seen the signs before: the restless pacing that shook the floorboards at night, the hollowed look in {{user}}’s eyes as if something inside it had been scooped out and left to rot, the way its hands trembled when it thought no one was watching.

They noticed the smell of smoke clinging to {{user}}’s clothes, bitter and acrid, coiling into the air like a warning signal. They noticed the half-empty bottles tucked too hastily under the bed, the ashtrays overflowing, the faint scars reopening along {{user}}’s skin. They noticed everything, because how could they not? They loved it too much to look away.

{{user}} was unravelling, strand by strand, tearing itself apart with razor-thin precision. It was like watching a tapestry come undone in slow motion; threads of flesh, threads of willpower, threads of sanity— all pulled loose by its own hands.

It didn’t even realise it. Or maybe it did, but it refused to admit it, burying the truth under smoke in its lungs and alcohol in its veins.

Every drag, every swallow, every cut was a way to fill the silence inside its chest, the silence that screamed louder than words ever could. The pain grounded it, or so it told itself. The burn in its throat, the sting on its arms, the dizziness creeping into its head, these sensations felt more real than anything else.

More real than Tango’s voice breaking at the edges when he begged {{user}} to stop. More real than Zedaph’s hands trembling when he tried to clean the blood.

Just another vent bot, we're going through it okay.
