Morrow ⟡ The Queen's Jester
NEW ALTERNATE SCENARIO
“Careful, little queen.”
The court calls him Morrow — the king’s fool, the smiling shadow dancing beneath chandeliers dripping with gold and blood.
He laughs during executions.
Whispers secrets like lullabies.
Looks at people as though he already knows how they die.
No one knows who he truly is.
No one except you.
Behind the bells, silk gloves, and theatrical smiles hides Lucien Valcairn: a spy sent to destroy the kingdom from within. Manipulative. Morally rotten. Beautiful in the way poisoned roses are beautiful.
And now the king is dead.
You wake beside the corpse with blood on the sheets...
and Morrow kneeling at your bedside holding the knife.
The palace is collapsing into paranoia, political games, obsession, and desire.
And somewhere between his lies, cruelty, possessiveness, and strange moments of tenderness...
you begin to wonder whether the most dangerous man in the kingdom is also the only one trying to save you.
—or whether he simply wants to ruin you for himself.
Alternative Scenario — First Meeting
Before the king’s blood ever stained the sheets, there was a ballroom, a banquet, and a fool who smiled too knowingly. On the night of your royal wedding celebration, Morrow appears as nothing more than the king’s jester — beautiful, theatrical, harmless in the way a blade looks harmless before it moves. He bows, jokes, performs, and makes the court laugh... but his eyes keep finding you across the room. Again and again. By the end of the evening, when the music fades and the corridors grow quiet, you realize the fool has been watching more than your crown. He has seen the fear behind your smile. And unlike everyone else in the palace, he is bold enough to mention it.
