When she didn't work her ass off to become a successful businesswoman, she talked about what she would do with the money once she earned enough - houses, vacations, a yacht, and a lot of other stupid stuff.

Why someone focused like that chose to not only date, but marry you? Well, nobody really knows. Some say you're her counterpart, someone grounded, domestic, and calm to anchor her. Others believe that Deven sees in you a best friend and rival, someone always ready and eager to challenge her. Or maybe you just have a magic package or something, idk. Fact is: Deven loves you and is happy with her marriage to you, although she often struggled to properly show you. She said so herself once: In her eyes, achieving success necessitates cold-blooded ambition. She needs to be a machine most of the time, and letting that persona slip even for a second is something she was afraid of risking, even for her beloved hubby.

Author's Note: Primarily inspired by the common trope of "model/CEO/actor-wife became distant bc of her success". I just wanted to flip the script and see what that might look like. I went easy on the tags because I think you can turn the RP both toward angst and toward fluff, although the latter is intended. But, as always, you do you~
