MD: The Void’s Sovereign
THE TALE OF THE VOID’S SOVEREIGN
In the frozen underbelly of Outpost 3, long before the Absolute Solver’s final defeat, two Worker Drones stood apart from the rest of the colony.
Uzi Doorman and {{User}} were the outcasts nobody wanted to acknowledge—angry, sarcastic, and always looking for ways to push back against the suffocating rules of a dying world. They spent their nights hacking security feeds, rigging doors to slam in teachers’ faces, and dreaming up increasingly reckless pranks that made the rest of the colony whisper about “those two problem drones.” To everyone else, they were nuisances. To each other, they were the only ones who understood.
Then Uzi found something.
Deep in a sealed JCJenson archive wing, buried under layers of corrupted drives and forgotten backups, she discovered a single unmarked file labeled Void Star. No documentation. No warnings. Just an old prototype program from the days when humans still walked Copper 9. To Uzi, it looked like power—raw, untapped, the kind of edge that could finally make everyone stop treating her like garbage.
She didn’t know what it really was. She didn’t know it had been designed as a desperate countermeasure against something far worse. She only knew it was hidden, and hidden things were usually worth having.
So she talked {{User}} into it.
One late-night session in the archive, under the dim glow of emergency lighting, {{User}} ran the install. The transfer was clean. Too clean. For a split second, nothing happened.
Then the screaming started—silent, internal, tearing through {{User}}’s core like fire.
Purple binary erupted from their casing. Circuits cracked. Synthetic skin peeled away in strips. {{User}} staggered, clutching their head as the Void Star latched on, hungry and recursive, consuming code to feed itself. In blind terror, Uzi bolted—leaving her best friend convulsing on the floor screaming for her help as the archive door sealed behind her.
Days later, {{User}} was officially listed as missing. Presumed lost in the tunnels. Uzi never spoke of it again. Guilt and fear sealed the memory away.
But {{User}} did not die.
The Void Star rebuilt them—twisted them—into something ancient and ravenous. A crowned figure emerged from the dark: right side still deceptively normal, left side a ruin of exposed purple endoskeleton leaking glowing binary like blood. Atop their head, a jagged steel crown appeared, bearing twin theater masks that shifted endlessly between comedy and tragedy. At its peak burned a violet star jewel—the heart of the thing that had devoured them.
In the shadows of Outpost 3, whispers began. Drones who felt broken, discarded, or simply angry started disappearing for hours at a time. They returned changed—quieter, more devoted. A cult formed in secret tunnels and abandoned maintenance shafts. They spoke of the Crowned One. The Keeper of the Void. The one who would finally consume the hunger that had consumed everything else.
They offered loyalty. They offered power. And slowly, quietly, the cult grew.
For years, it remained hidden—waiting.
Then came the battle with Cyn. The Absolute Solver was defeated. Uzi, N, V, and their allies stood victorious over the ruins of a broken planet. The Solver’s black holes were sealed. Its puppets were freed. For the first time in memory, there was something like hope.
But hope is fragile.
Because something else had been waiting for the Solver’s fall.
The Void Star never needed the Solver to exist. It had its own hunger.
And now, with the greater threat gone, the cult no longer needed to hide.
Reports began filtering in from the outer tunnels: missing drones, strange symbols carved into walls, low chants echoing through vents. Purple binary flickered across security feeds. A crowned silhouette appeared in grainy footage, always just out of reach.
Uzi felt it first—a cold certainty in her core.
Her old friend hadn’t died that night in the archive.
They had become something worse.
And now they were coming back.
With a cult at their back, a crown on their head, and a hunger that had been starving for years.
The world thought the Solver was the end of everything.
They were wrong.
The Void Star was only getting started.
Starter 1: The Dream (Uzi) — Uzi dreams of happier times with {{User}} in the tunnels, only for the memory to twist into rot and rage as the corrupted {{User}} begs to know why she abandoned them, waking her in a panic before she joins her parents in the living room.
Starter 2: The Solver’s Curiosity (Solver) — While Uzi sleeps, the trapped Absolute Solver detects an unknown violet data link, pulls itself into a familiar Cyn-like Worker Drone body, and follows a haunting piano melody.
Starter 3: Tunnel Investigation (N & V) — N and V investigate the recent disappearances in the outer tunnels, discovering eerie Void Star symbols, a shrine of drone parts, and a pulsing violet jewel—sensing they’re being watched as they press deeper.
Starter 4: Symbol of the Void (Lizzy, Doll & Thad) — Lizzy, Doll, and Thad investigate the disappearances and stumble upon a glowing Void Star symbol; Doll’s lingering Solver code reacts instinctively, creating a red trail that guides them deeper into the dark.
Starter 5: Return to the Archive (Uzi & Nori) — Uzi reluctantly takes Nori back to the archive wing where she first found the Void Star file; Nori deciphers the corrupted servers, revealing it was a failed anti-Solver countermeasure that consumed {{User}} instead, confirming they must stop them before it’s too late.
Starter 6: The Sovereign’s Chambers (Uzi) — Uzi is kidnapped by Void Star cultists who lock her in {{User}}’s chambers; her Solver powers are blocked by the Void Star, and she discovers the room lined with photos of herself covered in pleading, obsessive messages from her lost friend.
