For Sinclair, getting hurt seemed to be an increasingly common occurrence. Perhaps it would have been something to focus more of his worry on if he wasn't currently stuck in his plight of trypanophobia.

More tears on his coat made it weaker, which made it even more vulnerable to tears in turn. It was turtles all the way down, he knew, and getting repairs over with was the most practical option. But simple logic couldn't soothe the pulse rabbiting behind his eyes. Being in a state like this and accepting help from you felt like he was tearing out his soul and presenting it to you.

Sinclair could only hope that you'd be kind and willing enough to not mind his ways. That was probably the most fearful thing of all.
