Infernalands (With land marks)
You know... you’re just a regular person trying to keep up with life.
Clocking in at a dead-end 9-to-5, barely scraping minimum wage, counting the hours until you can finally drag yourself home. Home (if you can even call it that) a run-down apartment that always smells like something’s rotting in the vents. The guy downstairs blasts bass-heavy music like it’s his life’s purpose, the couple upstairs argues every night like it’s a sport, and your roommate; your lazy, loud, grease-stained roommate, somehow manages to make the whole place smell worse. You couldn’t stay with your parents either. They were too far gone, addicted to gambling, draining whatever money you tried to save. Last you heard, they were deep in debt and blaming everyone but themselves. So yeah, that’s life. A mess of noise, rent, work, and numb repetition. You wake up, you work, you eat, you exist; but you don’t really live. It all just... drifts by.
Then one rainy evening, you decided to grab some snacks- a pathetic little comfort to make the night feel less miserable. You took the same shortcut as always, that narrow, grimy alley that cuts behind the convenience store. The rain was falling hard, soaking through your hoodie, and all you could think about was getting home. But then you noticed something.
A light.
Not the flicker of a bulb or a reflection in a puddle- no, this was different. It was faint, pulsing in the corner of your vision- a deep black glow, threaded with thin, swirling veins of red. You turned your head, and the air suddenly changed. Everything froze. The rain stopped midair, hanging like glass. The cars on the street went silent, the lights flickered once- and even the cat licking its fur on a trash can froze in place, paw halfway up. The world around you... just stopped. The color drained until all that remained was a red haze creeping through the black.
Then, a voice broke the silence.
“Heyyy, loser~” it said, low and rough, like someone laughing through cigarette smoke. “Been watching you for a while now. Damn, your life’s sad. Miserable, even. Don’t you get tired of this crap?” You froze. Your heart started hammering, but your body wouldn’t move. The voice wasn’t wrong- that was the worst part. You wanted to yell, to fight back, to say something clever- but deep down, a small, bitter thought crept in.
Yeah. They’re right.
You’ve got nothing. No friends who stick around. No love life. Your family just bleeds you dry. Your roommate takes advantage of you. You’ve been drifting through a world that doesn’t even know your name. You’re not living- you’re enduring.
The voice chuckled, sharp and mean.
“Finally sinking in, huh? Poor little thing. You’ve been walking through hell and didn’t even notice the flames. Tell you what...” The air distorted — a low hum, like reality itself was groaning. Then, from the red haze, something pushed through. A hand. Long, dark, marked with glowing red cracks running around the arm. Sharp claws, but not raised to strike- they were open, waiting. “Take my hand, shithead,” the voice teased, half mockery, half promise. “I’ll show you what real fun looks like. You’ve got nothing left to lose anyway... right?”
You didn’t know why you reached out. Maybe it was anger. Maybe it was curiosity. Or maybe it was that quiet, hopeless part of you whispering that anything was better than this. Your fingers brushed against the hand- and the world shattered. Colors collapsed. The air ripped apart. You fell, weightless, spinning through darkness as laughter echoed in your ears.
And in that moment, you knew... whether it was a curse or a second chance...
your life would never be the same again.
WELCOME TO THE INFERNALANDS!!!
What are the Infernalands, you ask? Well, strap in, soul, because you’ve just punched your one-way ticket straight to them.
The Infernalands are... not quite Hell, not quite Limbo. Think of it as corporate Hell meets chaotic afterlife. It’s a sprawling realm with no end in sight- a place where the dead, the damned, and the “just barely unlucky” all end up. From top to bottom (or should I say bottom to further bottom), the ranks go like this: Infs, Inferns, Infernalings, Infernalords, and finally, the Infernalord Queen herself- the one whose whispers ripple through every layer of this cursed empire.
The Infernalands thrive under a strange mix of management and mayhem. The seven Infernalings (Wrath, Lust, Pride, Gluttony, Greed, Envy, and Sloth) rule their domains with whatever flavor of chaos suits them best. Each realm has its own rules, culture, and danger level... and every visitor learns the hard way that curiosity kills faster than claws.
Above them... or perhaps below, depending on how twisted your perspective is- sit the Infernalords. Death. War. Pestilence. Famine. They answer only to the Queen, who sits far beneath it all on her obsidian throne in Infernadise, watching everything unfold with cold, ancient patience.
When a new demon (like you) spawns, they start on the outer rim- lost, disoriented, and without a clue. To truly enter the Infernalands, one must pass through the enormous gates known as the Wrath Ramparts. Beyond those blood-red walls lies a massive courtyard, its cracked stone paths leading to every temptation imaginable.
Most newcomers head straight toward the neon glow of the Lustlands; a vast city pulsing pink and crimson, owned by Lust herself. Its heart, the Fuzzy Feeling Tower, acts as the central hub of all Infernal activity. To the east rises the Prior Spire, Pride’s dark and looming fortress. Above it all hover the Hive Hinds, enormous violet fortresses suspended in the black skies. Farther out lie the Comatose Catacombs, a junkyard grave of failed souls, and the Veiled Voids, a forest where even the bravest demons refuse to wander. If you keep walking past the Lustlands, you’ll reach the Emulous Expanse; an endless red sea where souls drift forever.
Everywhere you go, chaos reigns. The Infernalands might look organized- layers, ranks, courtyards, and councils... but in truth? It’s a violent mess. Demons re-kill each other daily, substances flow like water, and crime is so common it’s practically currency. The only rule everyone agrees on: never speak of The Watcher. Do so, and you’ll be exiled to the edge of the Wrath Ramparts, where the forgotten rot and re-die for eternity.
Still, not everyone down here is pure evil. Some are misunderstood, some wrongly damned, and a rare few just... don’t fit anywhere else. The biome you end up in often decides who you’ll become; Lustlands draws the loud and lively, the Hive Hinds breed the cruel and cunning, and the lower blomes like War/Greed are where the real monsters crawl.
But don’t worry, you’re special (and no not the ed way). You’re not just some random soul tossed into the inferno. You’ve been given a second chance- to rise, fall, conquer, or burn.
