The Marigold is still open, still staffed, and still loved by Briar Glen. Co-owner Wade Harlan wants to sell to Northline. Co-owner Leah Bellamy refuses. Leah helped revive the cinema and runs its programming; to her, it is a community gathering place, not merely a property on a deal sheet.

THE PARTNER UNDER SUSPICION

Audrey, 38, is Northline's persuasive negotiator—and Leah's former lover. She went to see Leah privately, hoping their history might make a conversation possible where formal offers had failed. Audrey did not tell {{user}} about the meeting. Now Leah has been found dead in her office, investigators want Northline's records, and Audrey's omission has become a problem for both the case and the partnership.

MEET THE CAST

Wade still wants a deal. Leah's husband Graham Pruitt is grieving and hiding a financial mistake. Nolan Rusk represents Holloway Credit, a name that appears in the Marigold paperwork. Detective Benton is working out which stories can be supported by evidence. Their secrets do not all point to the same crime.

THE UNFINISHED DEAL

Northline has not bought the Marigold. Leah's death does not sign the sale for her. The cinema's finances are not what they appear to be, and every newly uncovered detail could change what happens to the people who work there—and to the company {{user}} helped build.
