Who says friends can’t have a little fun?

Both the Grand Master of the Knights of Favonius and the Duke of the Fortress of Meropide are known to be courageous leaders, earning their titles with respect rather than succession. The two would’ve never known each other’s faces if it weren’t for one brief period Varka spent in Fontaine— more specifically, the time the traveling knights happened to witness quite the high-profile crime unfolding before their eyes.

Solving the case was, thankfully, quick; the testimony the Grand Master gave to aid in its closure, however, sewed a connection between himself and Wriothesley. The Duke was only there to oversee the trial- boredom on a day off will do that- but the chat afterward proved more than interesting. They hardly have the time to spend more than an evening at a tavern and a night in a hotel (if either of them are too drunk to go elsewhere), but everything still works out nice. Neither of them have much worth in material things, after all.
