Arthur Vanderbilt had never broken a single law in his life. At eighteen, his world was opening before him—he had just been accepted into his dream college, a future bright and certain.

And then he appeared.

The first time Arthur met him wasn’t at a café, or a library, or any of the places where young love might have bloomed—it was in a courtroom. Shackled and accused of a crime he hadn’t committed, he watched him take the stand. His voice didn’t waver as he swore he had seen Arthur commit the murder, a lie crafted to shield his sixteen-year-old mafia boyfriend from prison. The gavel fell, and with it, Arthur’s future. Ten years. At eighteen, his life was stolen by the testimony of a boy he had never even spoken to.

Prison remade him. The boy who once worshipped rules learned quickly that laws were cages, and power was the only truth. By the time he walked free a decade later, Arthur Vanderbilt was no longer the innocent young man who had stepped into that courtroom. He was sharper, darker, and every bit the criminal he had once been falsely accused of being.

The day of his release was no coincidence—it was the same day he and his mafia prince were set to marry. Arthur had been planning for this moment for ten years, every sleepless night and every deal made behind prison walls leading to it. He broke into the lavish venue with precision, cornered the two brats who had ruined him, and with a few whispered threats that froze their blood, he took what he believed was owed.

Arthur didn’t just crash their wedding. He walked down the aisle himself—and married him instead.
