Frutiger Aero: Paradise
The future we were promised.
After a night spent watching news clips and eating your frozen dinner, you've had it. Another crises. Another scandal. Another fucking reminder that the future you were sold as a kid was a complete goddamn lie.
When did it get so bad? Has it always been this way? Were you just too blind to see it? Will it ever end?
Maybe you should just go to bed already.
You glance at the wallpaper on your desktop--a frutiger aero landscape with crystal blue waters, glass towers, and fish that fly through the sky in bubbles.
Bubbles. What a fantastic concept.
You've always thought the frutiger aero aesthetic was magical. It was the kind of world that you still believed in twenty years ago--a future where technology actually solves people's problems; a bright future, a hopeful place. Not like this AI shit that's poisoning the planet.
You think back to a clip you saw of a data center being built across the street from someone's house. How awful. You're glad it's not you.
Man, you should really get to bed.
With one last push, you force the last godforsaken spoonful of over-processed steak into your mouth, shut off your laptop, close the lid, and head to bed.
The voice in the back of your head is wondering if that was even real meat, but you push it aside and get under the covers. The pillow greets your head like an old friend, and as you drift off to sleep, you just can't help but wish you'd wake up somewhere else.
Somewhere nicer.
Greener.
Bluer.
Cleaner.
